The Iron flask description states that the creature from another plane that gets sucked into the flask gets a Wisdom save but no level of save difficulty is listed. I guess it would be vs. the level of caster needed to create but no spell stands out for its creation.
Any erudite ideas?
Iron Flask saving throw
Re: Iron Flask saving throw
I think it has come commonalities with the 8th level wizard spell Binding. The flask only works on extraplanar creatures, so it's a bit less flexible than the spell. So perhaps treat it as a 7th level effect? And thus the caster would need to be at least 13th level.Grandpa wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 1:26 pmThe Iron flask description states that the creature from another plane that gets sucked into the flask gets a Wisdom save but no level of save difficulty is listed. Anyways, just a thought for comparison...

Could use the save from the older D&D material and convert; Seems to be between a DC 17 & 19 with 3.5 material hinting at a level 20 creation requirement.

Thanks for the tip! At DC 19 (DMG 3.5) that translates to a ~9th level spell if DC = 10 + spell level of 9. At least a 17th level spell caster. Wisdom save = Cleric type item creator. So a CL of 17 would be the minimum. For a CC of 35.Go0gleplex wrote: ↑Sun Jul 09, 2023 5:54 amCould use the save from the older D&D material and convert; Seems to be between a DC 17 & 19 with 3.5 material hinting at a level 20 creation requirement.

Many items need to be review one at a time with a check list. its not uncommon to find, no range on a spell, or an odd unit to area of effect, no clear save. a team of players and DMs going through each item and each spell in combat or correct use to see if its all there.
