Aufstrag Level 1 released.

Post by Treebore »

My kids were pretty thrilled, because now we can finish our many years old A Series Campaign. Then I broke the bad news to them, that I'd have to rewrite all of the encounters, because its too whimpy as written for 16th and 17 level characters.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Ooohh! How did they release this? Was there a kickstarter?

Thanks.

Ahh, how do you like what you've seen or read so far?

And will there be any other Aufstrag rewards?

I hope I didn't miss out on some great stuff!

Steve is writing 5 levels worth of PDF's for us, but I am sure they will all be seen again when Aufstrag itself is finally released.

Way too far ahead of me, I've yet to run the A series, so I figure I've got a few years until that module would ever come to play

Yeah, if each module is used to its fullest, I can see it taking a couple of years worth of weekly gaming just to get up to the Aufstrag module/boxed set. I just hope Steve doesn't whimp out on making Aufstrag as big a module as possible. It is a HUGE underground city and numerous complexes after all. It should be far bigger than Undermountain.

I'm really looking forward to Aufstrag. My old group (players came and went) from late 2011-part of 2014 may be getting back together. Between drop out's and a few character deaths, none of the original characters will be back for the A-series. That said, many of the characters that came along in and around A2:Slag Heap and A3:Wicked Cauldron are likely continuing on. We still have the character sheets, the list of treasure and creature kills (for experience purposes), and we pretty much remember where we were at. Have to look over the ziggurat and the monster kills to determine which rooms haven't been explored. We were all chatting on FB about the misadventures of various party members since A0. It was agreed there were some good times, and we're going to make it happen. I'm also going to take another group through the A-series, starting at the beginning.
