Sound's like you had a good time. I made some adjustments to Karthedon also, like giving him the Animate Dead spell to explain the fact that he's creating and using zombies. I've also been pondering the alignment thing to, he has no problems with creating the undead yet he's thankful and generous once the Feeblemind spell has been removed. If he's truly evil wouldn't he just kill off the PC's?

I actually liked the evil aspect. The PCs were wondering about it, obviously, but Karthedon worked with the town, and he was grateful when revived, so they're unsure what to make of him.

I'm running him as "lawful evil"; he's not a sociopath, and he's not completely selfish. He has his own ideas about right and wrong, and pursuit of magic trumps "mundane morality." He doesn't have any great respect for life and liberty, but he can be loyal to those who are loyal to him and who respect his power and position.

It should be interesting, because my PCs are mainly good and neutral, and Karthedon is falling into position as a kind of mentor, which may make things interesting, down the line.

When I ran it for a small party, they didn't have a wizard, and the thief couldn't read magic to cast the dispel magic scroll. so they gave K some food and gently, but forcibly escorted him back to their base (the halfing village in Sieg's great SotHH). They're going to have to get NPC help to remove the feeblemind, and then there will be some interesting repercussions. I like Philotomy's 'LE' approach. I'm not yet sure what the Halflings will make of him, though!
