TLG & The Gygax Estate re-release Castle Zagyg: Yggsburgh

Post by Bifford »

Stephen Chenault:
As many of you have probably heard, Gary Gygax's material, long buried is at last coming back to the gaming table! I cannot express to you how deliriously happy everyone at Troll Lord Games, but for me personally it bears something a bit more personal. Gary was a friend of mine and we worked together for many years. I promised him certain things and have never been able to fulfill that promise. With luck, some work and your help we can make this and more happen.

A kindly thank you to Luke Gygax for all the hard work on this end and to all the Gygax's who have shown me and TLG such kindness and support over all these years: Ernest Gary Gygax Jr., Elise' Gygax-Cousino Heidi Gygax Garland Alex Gygax and Cindy too!

We are opening the doors with a pre-order for a classic version of Yggsburgh. A fantastic city setting that he created for Castle Zagyg. We want to get Gary's material back at the table as soon as possible, and this is a wonderful way to do that and show the Gygax estate the real value of this material and perhaps open wider doors for deeper dungeons.

Huzzah! I own most of the products from the first run, but it will be nice to get PDFs and some reprints.

On several game boards it is suggested that this line is full of typos and/or layout issues. Any chance this will be cleaned up, or is it just a quick "let's just get this done" kind of project?

From what I read, the Yggsburgh is just a quick release since it's ready to go. Sounds like they'll kickstart the Gygaxian Fantasy series some months down the road. I would think those are ready to go too since they obviously were in print at one time, so maybe with the kickstarter they'll be some editing and rework? Lots of speculation and hope out there...

What do you mean by the Gygaxian Fantasy series. Would that be the Gord the Rogue series, or the Amazing Journeys or other items?

Totally agree, but I'm on salary. Will have to get creative with the budget. Food, is it really needed? ;)
