I've been looking at Obsidian Portal. I just need to figure out if they have a Forum feature the free basic package or if I have to have a paid subscription to get that feature. I'll keep you all posted as I continue to investigate.

So, after some investigation, OP has a forum function, but it is only accessible in the paid tier. Not sure I want to go that route.

Was there a choice for the next game ?

To change the flavor, I could do my one offs as SW D6, or C&C or something else.

I could cover a few months to give a break. But until the dust settles a little more at work there is no way I could run a campaign . I thought it would settle down more by now but I'm still getting more denials than grants and each one take 2 - 3 + hours or work and research to get support, and I'm still cleaning up other peoples' messes ...

Ok, so after a lot of thought, I'm going to end the campaign. I'm ready to move on to something else. I am going to run 5e set in the Nentir Vale. My next Monday night session will be character creation and campaign background stuff. I will get an Epic Words campaign up and running beforehand and invites sent out. We currently have 5 players, do you all want me to see if Rom or Josh would be interested in playing again to get the party back up to 6? I'm ok with either.

Also, I'm looking at Mote right now as maybe a different VTT, but if I decide to stay with MT, I will be switching to MT 1.4.0.5 and I found a 5e Framework that, at least loads, on it to use. Though I've had it glitch on me every time I try to make a PC with it.

So start thinking about character concepts and if anyone needs access to the PHB, let me know.

No problem. He's not going to be a party griefer; the alignment was just to be funny, trivial, day-to-day evil, like not putting the tie back on the bread bag or getting peanut butter and jelly on borrowed grimoires.

I know I mentioned earlier a Teifling Paladin & Assassin , & I'm still thinking about that one but it may be to much for me not knowing the 5e rules.

To keep it simpler ...A dwarf scout (thief / fighter), or a cleric of (not sure on the race) . [ crud I was slow to post this and someone already has a cleric , so I'll think more and have another back up idea ]

I know the setting is more fractured and less civilized than most setting, so I won't need to have an in depth background.

Thanks for the offer, but go ahead an play the cleric. It was a quick idea I had while I was typing (since I ran Oztard so much).

I'd actually like to try the Teifling Paladin Assassin, it is an idea I've had since the early 3.5e days ... I just don't know how well it will work over all and how it fits in the 5e rules.

Thus far we have your cleric, a warlock (for magic) and PW's Barb (for the tank of the party), So we need another fighter & a thief to cover the big bases for the party.

So, the Paladin-Assassin & / or the Dwarf Scout (thief fighter) fill that and opens the door for everyone else to play more other niche character classes.

PW, great to roll dice with you again !

Once we get everyone on Epic Words and in the campaign, I will only be using that site to communicate for that game so I don't have to post the same information to multiple places.

Haaaa !

I don't have the full rules, but have gone to the basic rules and done some google searches for what else I needed for my characters.

Over the last 3 1/2 hours I put together 2 characters ( a Teifling Paladin Rogue; a 1/2 elf rogue fighter)

I will say it was easier than 3.5, but not as 'easy' as C&C.

Ok, as a side note, since I don't have the full rules and am guessing on multi classes ...

I made the character with both classes, but only noted half HP & no proficiency bonuses for their skills till 2nd level (when they would be level 1 & 1 by the book).

I hope it is close to correct ... I'd hate to have wasted the last 3 1/2 hours being jacked up !

Well...
Multiclassing is like 3e, 1 level of something to start and then you add a level of something else at level 2.

Once you join the campaign on EW you can look at the Wikis for the campaign.

& I've been checking my e-mail for days for the invite .... and I just remembered that EW hates Hotmail, so I checked my yahoo e-mail. The short of it is I am now joined there ... stupid e-mail ... ;)

Rgr on the multi classing. I'll post the character as is knowing it will complete at 2nd level ( I don't want to deconstruct it just to reconstruct it after 300 exp ...)

So, which would you allow / the group prefer me to play. The Teifling Paladin/thief , or the 1/2 elf thief fighter.

I like the feel of both after making them last night, so will play either of them which ever you allow / everyone else wants in the group.

I'm really looking forward to the game. i found character creation easy and quick. Hopefully that doesn't mean I made some kind of mistake!
