What do you want to "hear"?

Post by DMMike »

There's some talk about the desire of a Victorious podcast in the near future. If so, what would you want such a podcast to cover? Game rules discussions? Variants? Encounters? New characters? Victoriana? Interviews?

Fire away!

What I look for the most, by far, is guidelines on mechanically defining the various power possibilities.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Interesting...its been my experience that listeners often don't want real crunchy content. What would you be looking for, as an example?

Mike...the GM who goes....<CRUNCH>!

Just concrete guidelines on what their chosen power can do. Its not anything I think you should pre define, its just that when the players describe to me how they want their power to work, I look at my other resources for mechanical guide lines. Why reinvent the wheel when I already own several of them?

Ok, maybe a "In my Chronicle" sort of section where Liz and I discuss how we have a power used in our home games....That way guidelines are given without "official" stamped on it. :)

I've always felt a bit ambivalent about describing my "origin" game for Victorious. On the one hand I don't want to straightjacket a GM by putting down comments that players might use later to contradict a GM. On the other hand I know lots of people are genuinely interested in "my" Victorious Earth. How much is too much?

Not everyone owns the resources I do, so you may want to write a supplement book that is like the CKG, optional, a tool box, on how you can go about defining the powers better. I wouldn't even think you need to be exhaustive about it either. Probably just take one power description from the core book and show how you can define it as a character goes from level 1 with it to level 20. People are probably most concerned with, "How powerful should this power be when they are 3rd level? 6th? 10th?" and so on... Then do that for every power you have listed. If you do that, it should provide plenty of guidance on how to flesh out other power variations on their own.

If the Trolls won't publish such a book, then do a blog like series on the official website. Then we can be sure G+ and FB users can know about it.

Good point, and I imagine Steve will like more product. ;)

For a podcast, maybe have a "Power Prcedence" or some such for a discussion on a power or package; I think packages probably confuse more people than the regular powers though.

Still thinking,
