Moran looks at Spaulding and nods.
“Ahh, yes Professor Moriarty,” Spaulding gets to his feet and seems to be nervous. “Ya see, I had me best men on guard that night. And . . well, she didn’t escape but a few people were able to get her out of the tower and down the wall to the ground!”
“The guards saw them and ran in to retake the prisoner, but a few odd things happened!”
Moriarty squints and stares down Spaulding, “Yes, odd things. Get on with it!”
“Well . . ahhh, yes. When Jeeves ran down the group, he brought up his shotgun and . . and. . “
“And? What!” shouted Moriarty!
“Some sort of invisible force sent him to ground!” exclaims Spaulding.
Moriarty begins to speak, but closes his mouth and for a moment is silent and then he looks to Dr. Fu Manchu. Fu nods his head to indicate that this bizarre force does exist.
“Continue!”
Spaulding shuffles a bit and says, “And then the gun battle began, and this group were able to shoot our men . . and one fellow took a big rock in his eye!”
Moriarty is now visibly perturbed and shouts, “Sit down Spaulding . . . Moran yer man hires thugs that quake when a girl throws a rock at them. Enough! Spaulding, you are dismissed while we discuss whether or not you go back to the East End. Smithers, show him out the back door!”
The professor paces to and fro from his orchids to the table with the carafe of Scotch while looking sometimes towards Fu Manchu.
“Moran, get rid of Spaulding and find yourself a new assistant!” He drains his glass.
Moran seems taken aback and pleads, “Professor, he served England well in the war, He’s a good man, just not so good at picking subordinates. May I find a replacement, but use him to good use in other capacities?”
“Very well!” replies Moriarty as he lights a cigar and sits down again next to Dr. Fu Manchu . . “how do you handle failure, Fu?” as he sips again from his glass.
“Ahhh, Professor Moriarty. I shall instruct you in the ways of success. Our methods in my world never fail”.
Fu looks at Lee Jun-fan who quickly moves to his uncle . . “I will take my leave now! Come tomorrow for lunch and we can discuss our alignment and how we might achieve success with our mission. Jewels . . I love precious jewels and will do anything to acquire them!
Part 3 . . end!

Session III - Looking for Lefty
The adventurers:
Aergraith as:
Detective Chief Inspector Evelyn St. John St. James (Alias: Justus X. Nihilo), inquiry agent
Penny as:
Wellington, Vigilante. Member of the Baker Street Irregulars.
NPC:
Doctor Octavious Oppenheimer (Octo) aka: The Octopus)
Class: Psychic
The action:
When Chief Inspector Evelyn St. John St. James enters the police station on Monday morning, another detective tells him that Superintendent Marlybone wishes to see him in his office immediately.
After admonishing his Chief Inspector for botching the handbag robbers arrest and then giving said bag to the wrong person, Marlybone calms down and offers St. James an opportunity to make an important arrest.
The superintendent explains that based on a tip from Inspector Lestrade, he believes in has the location/hideout of Lefty Benson who is a local section crime leader and the one who was in charge of the handbag caper. He asks St. James if he will go undercover and find Lefty and bring him in.
St. James agrees and says he can utilize two friends to assist him.
They arrive in the warehouse district and scout the building. Very quiet neighborhood as most here are inside buildings and at their work.
Wellington talks to a beggar and learns a little about this particular warehouse district, but the beggar knows nothing about Lefty . . only about a man who occasionally pays him to look the other way or to whistle as a lookout. He doesn't ask questions about what is going on, he only wishes to survive and accepts payment for his services from a bloke named Biggy.
Wellington then decides to use the direct approach and go to the front door. A sign says, deliveries accepted at the side entrance in the gangway. She knocks on the door, but there is no response. She is able to pick the lock on the right door, but if appears to be bolted or barred from inside.
She then goes to the side entrance and sees a small slide in the door to permit speech and allow those inside to see who is outside. There is also a bell. She knocks at the door but there is no answer. She later tries the bell and after a few moments, someone inside says, "whadiya want?"
The Baker Street irregular tells the man she has a large box delivery for Lefty, but it's too big to carry and would someone inside come and get the box.
The man says, there is no Lefty here and go away, this is private property. She then decides to shimmy up the side of the building to the roof. As she passes each floor the rooms with windows are empty. On the roof she is able to open a trap door and descend to the third floor.
St. James stations himself across the street in a doorway and they have Octavious go to the back of the side gangway to watch the back of the property for anyone coming or going.
Wellington carefully check each room on each floor finding very little until she discovers the old printing press that was used for counterfeiting. A broken 5 pound plate is on the floor and the girl takes it. She then goes to the front door and open it for the others. They find their way to the stairs that lead to the basement.
The basement is dark and maze like as the group carefully moves through the halls. Suddenly, a nitroglycerin bottle hits the wall and explodes causing damage to some members of the party. They continue cautiously but a few more bottles are thrown which generate more acid damage to the group.
They eventually find and question a couple of thugs and realize that someone went up a secret spiral staircase to the roof. The heroes persue and chase a man with one arm across the rooftops, sometimes jumping from building to building.
The see the man open a trap door and disappear down into a building. When they arrive, they see the man unconscious at the bottom of the ladder which apparently had several rungs which seemed to have broken causing the man to fall.
They handcuff him and then revive him, carrying him downstairs and out the front door. St. James blows his whistle and several bobbies arrive to take custody of the criminal leader.
The group then goes back to the hideout building to retrieve some journals and papers that are in the office of Lefty.
St. James is well received back at his office by Superintendent Marlybone.
End session.

I won't make it this Friday either. Apparently these "meet and greet" dinners are a thing at writers conventions.
Oh well, if response is as strong at this one, its worth it.

Next day in Limehouse, northside . . Blue Lotus Rising restaurant ~
Dr. Fu Manchu welcomes Professor Moriarty for lunch. Outside Moran sits in a car with two thugs. Another car is in the back alley with three thugs.
Moriarty sits and is served tea by the waitress, who then serves Fu.
“My chef has prepared a very special dish for lunch today! It is a fabulous pepper steak meal that was created by Li Ru Mein.” Says the Dr.
“What. Li Ru Mein? He is in league with Holmes and I thought he was your enemy!” exclaims Moriarty before he lifts his teacup.
“No, not enemy. We are rivals, competing in business. Besides, he is my cousin and he is one of the best chefs in Chinatown!” smirks Fu and he stares at Moriarty inwardly enjoying the easy way that he can manipulate and toy with the Professor.
Moriarty returns the stare and shakes it off, “OK, I’ll leave you to deal with your . . cousin.” He sips and turns to look at some of the fantastic flower displays, “The lotus is truly sublime in its beauty, second only to the orchid!”
“The purity of the lotus rising out of the swamp, is the gentleman of flowers!” says a voice from a side door.
“Yes, it is the fairy of flowers!” replies Fu rising as a man enters the room.
“Tang dynasty ~ 618-907, poet unknown” says Li Ru Mein as he bows and greets his cousin. “Greetings, Professor Moriarty! Li Ru Mein at your service.”
Moriarty is dumbfounded for a moment . . and then says, “hullo” and looks at Fu Manchu.
“I’ve asked my cousin to join us, as I must be sure his recipe for our lunch today is perfect.” Says Fu. “Come in, my dear!”
Shu-Lien enters the room and bows to Fu and then he introduces the woman to Moriarty and says, “you see . . a lotus like face!” And Shu-Lien blushes and says, “Thank you, Uncle!”
All sit and lunch is served.

That is one of my dad's favourite dishes! ty for sharing
Here's one for vegetarians. https://www.washingtonpost.com/pb/recip ... pot/13772/
No need for quite that much butter, the garlic should be cut into matchsticks and the cooking time seems a little long for my pan but otherwise quite yummy

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walkin' through the streets of Soho in the rain
He was lookin' for the place called Lee Ho Fooks
Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
Ya hear him howlin' around your kitchen door
Ya better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!
He's the hairy handed gent, who ran amok in Kent
Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him
He'll rip your lungs out Jim
Huh, I'd like to meet his tailor
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Aaahoo!

Aaahoo!
Well, I saw Lon Chaney walkin' with the queen
Doin' the werewolves of London
I saw Lon Chaney Jr. walkin' with the queen
Doin' the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinkin' a pina colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was perfect
Aaahoo! Werewolves of London
Draw blood

So, I missed werewolf regeneration in the combat last night (in Victorious Mike uses the term "healing") so that didn't jump out at me when glancing at the creature description.
Also, I didn't see saving throws vs. lycanthropy in Victorious, so at the beginning of next session - those bitten will get their save rolls.
I made mention of this to Mike in the Vic thread.

Thanks for saying so. I had fun playing little red riding hood. It is funny how some character combos work and some never seem to go anywhere. I think the DCI St. James priggishness works well against devil-may-care Wellington. Of course it is always fun to play with Aergraith. Thanks for making the adventure happen.Rhuvein wrote:Great players foster great game session!

Wow, love that song and it is one of 2 songs in existence that will wake me from a deep dark sleep no matter what.
Any time you can bring that as inspiration into a game it is extra points in my book!

Session IV - Strolling through Finsbury Park during the full moon
The adventurers:
Penny as:
Wellington, Vigilante. Member of the Baker Street Irregulars.
Aergraith as:
Detective Chief Inspector Evelyn St. John St. James (Alias: Justus X. Nihilo), inquiry agent
NPCs:
Edward J. Watson, medical student
Doctor Octavious Oppenheimer (Octo) aka: The Octopus)
Class: Psychic
Bobbies
The action:
Wellington receives a note from one of the other Baker Street Irregulars from Sherlock Holmes. He asks if Wellington could stop by his flat the next morning, which she does.
Holmes asks if Wellington could deliver a package to the tavern keeper in Finsbury Park. The girl is happy to undertake the delivery as she has many times in the past.
Wellington contacts St. James at his office and they leave to begin their journey north. As they exit, Octavious Oppenheimer appears and asks if he could accompany them. They gladly agree and the party enters the underground and catches the train to Finsbury Station.
The group exit the station and walk north towards the park. They enter and move along the trail carefully watching and listening as they continue.
After passing through a grove, the party is surrounded by three human sized creatures that seem to have the visage of a skull, even if they are finely garbed and wearing top hats.
The party hesitates and wonders if these are men in costume. Wellington addresses the men, but they don't answer.
The skeleton like creatures advance menacingly and withdraw swords from their canes. The heroes engaged the monsters while Wellington climbs into a tree. Blows and shots are traded and the skeletons are defeated, just as a bobby comes on the scene. The bobby calls another and they dispose of the creatures after telling the group how to find the Park Tavern.
Along the way, they meet a women in a cart looking for her fiance. She tells them that they had planned to meet at the Tavern, but he didn't show up.
The group continue north following the directions given by the bobby. They hear the sound of a wolf baying at the moon, and only stop briefly to see if they can determine the direction.
After passing through some thick bushes and trees, they encounter the wolf man creature who approaches them snarling and barring it's teeth.
The wolfman attacks but the party is ready and use silver bullets to harm and then kill the creature who then turns back into a man. The bobbies come along to take the man away as the party continues to the tavern to deliver and receive a package.
They then exit and move east to a main road and go back south to the underground.
End session.

Re: Rhu's Friday nite game ~ Vict/Ghastly/Masque RD
For tonight's game, I'm using a scenario/adventure from the 221B Baker Street Boardgame. Basically, the group will travel around London to various locations to get clues to solve a crime. I first thought to have you operate as a team using the game board for locations.
But then I thought that if you guys want, you can actually play the game during our session.
Lemeno what y'all think. Either way it should be interesting and hopefully fun for youse guys.

That'd be fine. I am terrible at board games, but we could give it a go.
