Background
The seventh son of a minor merchant, Antal grew up wanting for nothing. When Antal's father thought him old enough to learn the family trade, he was sent to the southern city, Farezia, to live and learn with his eldest brother, Tibor. In Farezia, Antal became enamored of the bravos of the city and began to mimic their affects. He also hired a master to train him in the bravo's fighting styles. He learned quickly and was adept at the cut & thrust sword. Antal spent less and less time learning from his brother and more time carousing and getting into scrapes with other young bravos. As the years past, Tibor became frustrated with Antal's lack of interest in the family business and his wasteful spending of the his allowance. Matters came to a head, and Tibor demanded that Antal give up his foppish and wasteful ways. They argued bitterly and Antal left his brother's house to make his own way in Farezia.

Antal struggled to continue his life style and took work as an enforcer for different enterprises in Farezia. This is when he adopted his signature dark clothes. For two years, Antal did not speak with his brother or have any dealings with his father's house. One night, Antal was carousing with several of his compatriots after a small job for a local noble. News came to Antal's ears that Tibor had been murdered. Antal was crushed that he was not able to make amends with Tibor and vowed to settle his brother's murderer. He used such connections as he had to discover the identity of his brother's killer and sought the man out. Before Antal sent the murderer to the hells, he was told that Elio, a son of the powerful noble house of Vespucci, had his brother killed for a perceived slight. Antal wasted no time in seeking Elio out and ending his life. He fled the city that night and returned to his father's house.

Name: Sir Edwin Gothmyer
Race: Human
Order: Noble
Rank: 8th Knight

Edwin was born into a Noble family, and as the second son had been groomed to be a good representative of his family in various court settings, and was trained to be a dangerous fighter and to Hunt as any Noble is expected to do. He has also trained hard, strengthening his body and increasing his stamina. Much to his fathers chagrin, he has also taken a liking to repairing and building things, primarily focusing on weapons and armor to keep his father from getting too upset. Not that his father can really do anything about it since Edwin achieved Knighthood. So Edwin plans on widening his skill in this area whenever possible. Yet duty comes first, so he will put the needs of his order and family first, but will sneak in time with tinkering as he can.
Edwin is on the tall side, just shy of 6 feet, weighs in at around 190 pounds, and is a fairly good looking young man with good teeth, good skin and good Brown hair. He does have noticeable scars above his left eye, where a swipe from a bear nearly took his head off, and left him with 3 scar lines, that are not heavy scars, but luckily rather light. Edwin is rather proud of his survival of that encounter. He has other scars on other parts of his body from wounds he has suffered in past battles with bandits, Tournaments, and Hunting, but so far he has been fortunate that none have been disfiguring, let alone crippling.

BASE RATINGS
Health: 64 = 44+16 +2 (Physique), +2 (Chivalry)
Precision: 55 = 44+7+2 (Weapons), +2 (Hunt)
Speed: 13.5 = 12+1.5

ABILITIES
1 Chivalry 100% Health (65) +1 from Rank 9 add +13 to Weapons Skill Use and Harm done.
2 Weapons 80% Precision (61) +4 from Chivalry/Noble Rank, +13 from Chivalry
3 Hunt 60% Precision (37) +4 from Chivalry/Noble Rank
4 Physique 40% Health (30) +4 from Chivalry/Noble Rank +3 to any Harm done with hand/held weapons

Additional: Mechanical 10%
+16 Harm from striking (+13 Chivalry, +3 Physique)

Gear is on my Roll 20 sheet. I don't want the thieving bass turds to know what I have.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I can tell this is going to be easy...

It's hard enough getting a new group of players of C&C together much less LA, looks like I have my work cut out for me. :)

Hang in there. It might take a few weeks or so. It took me several months before I got my Sunday night playtest group together.

Don't give up.

LA is a fabulous game!!!

When I wrap up Tegal Manor, I'd be happy to take a break and let someone run LA.

Well, if that's the case, could you guys generate your Avatars in the mean time and post them here? It will help give me a bit of a starting point on creating and or deciding on a suitable area and set of adventures. Whether you have the Lejendary Rules for All Players or the Essentials, going with either is fine. If any of you don't have either of those two resources then let me know and I can set up a time to get on Skype and help you with the process.

Background
Unfettered Ones are individuals who went through the rites of the Loresraat but decided to devote themselves to a single mystery of the earth, rather than becoming a Master. Once given the Rites of Unfettering they were freed from all responsibilities of Master and allowed to carry out their devotion alone. Due to their solitude many rumors have grown concerning them.

Some say that some of the Unfettered have learnt the secrets of dreams, others great healing arts, others can talk to animals and call them when in need.

Those who wish to become an Unfettered One must undergo the Rites of Unfettering, the lyrics go as follows:

Free
Unfettered
Shriven
Free -
Dream that what is dreamed will be:
Old eyes clasped shut until they see,
And sing the silent prophecy -
And be -
Unfettered
Shriven
Free.
Achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done the best that is within you. Success is being praised by others. That is nice but not as important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget about success.

16 Aug Character sheet

Name Eboergar (Boar spear) Berntson (son of Bernt – Bear strong)
Race Human
Gender male
Age 19
Physical Description Dark haired (a rarity for the area) and green eyed. Skin tanned from years working the family’s homestead, fishing (netting in the river and on boats), hunting, and trapping. Slightly taller than average (5'll) and lanky, raw boned. Wears sturdy, but good cloths. Has better than average fur cloak, coat and boots (from pelts he and his extended family has trapped and traded for. Uncomfortable in crowds and happiest when stalking through the woods with axe or spear in hand. Is honestly trying to be a good huscral for Sir Gothmyer. However, he is out of his depths in the social and political circles that the knight moves in.

Background

Eboergar Son of Bernt a member of the large Skogrstigi family. A family on the edge of society and nearly outlaw. The family has a series of far flung farmsteads and freeholdings. However, they are all of little value and so the famiy is poor. As such they family does not only rely on the farms to provide their needs. They hunt (or poach depending on who you ask) trap, fish, and move goods through the by-ways of the forest (as often as not smuggling to avoid the Jarls’ taxes). As such the Skogrstigi are hardy fearless, and often independent. However, as they are poor, they also are overlooked, ignored, and of little consequence to the Jarl, his theigns, and their huscarls at the Jarl’s mot and other social/political gatherings.

Eboergar grew up under his father’s roof with many brother sisters, cousins and kin. Learning the skills needed to be a Skogrstigi, and excelling at ranging through the woods, hunting (or poaching) and trapping. He even learned to track and trap in even the deep dark of the winter. (Being the best time and season to trap the best fur bearing animals).

On one such winter, 3 years ago, while checking one of his family’s trap lines, the fates changed Eboergar’s life.

As the short lived sunlight faded, and the sky showed signs of a fast approaching winter storm, Eboergar hurried toward a trappers cabin to wait out the storm. However as he turned from the creek bank to cut through the woods to the cabin, he herd the unmistakable sound of something crashing through the ice then a girls scream. Eboergar hurried through the woods to reach the bend in the creek. He broke through the tree line to see a well bread and valuable horse thrashing through the newly broken ice. And then saw a splash of color in the water.

He jumped into the fridge water and grabbed the cloth before it sunk under the ice. The cloth turned out to be the richly died and embroidered cloak of a girl. Eboergar puled and dragged the nearly unconscious girl to the bank , and cursed as the horse she had been riding galloped off. A few minutes later he cursed again as the snow storm began.

An hour later the 2 numbly stumbled into the cabin, and Eboergar began to build the fire that would keep them alive as the storms raged and wind blew for 3 days. Once the girl regained consciousness and had a belly full of warm broth and bits of meat, she told the trapper who she was. Kirsa Meike the niece of Jarl (???? insert the name that is applicable??).

Once the storm cleared Eboergar began the treck towards the Jarl’s holding, Halfway there, the youth and the girl ran into some of the jarl’s theigns wo were searching for the girl (her horse returned to the hold a few hours after the storm hit, but no one was able to begin the search in the furry of the storm. All hailed him as a hero.

This opened up doors to Eboergar that before had been closed and bared. Where before, in the mots the Skogrstigis were limited to standing in the back of the hall, now at least a few were standing at the front of the hall (though not seated at the Jarl’s thein’s table). Where before any time Eboergar was hunting on the Jarl’s land he was poaching, now he was invited and freely accepted.

On one such hunt 2 falls ago, again the fates intervened. While the group hunted a stag, a bear charged out into the midst of the party. The beast;s first charged killed 2 theigns and 3 freedman. In another swipe, the bear knocked down a knight (nearly blinding him) Eboergar grabed him and pulled him out of range of the bears claws. This was the first step for the once poacher and smuggler to become the knight’s (Sir Edwin Gothmyer) Huskarl.

Over the last year and half, the young knight and the once poacher and trapper have not only became friends, despite their different social standings, but also learned how to work together and each others strengths and weaknesses. Though, Eboergar is less skilled in cleaning and mending armor, caring for a battle horse and other duties the knight at times hopes for, he is still more than useful. His skills at stalking, ranging and tracking through the forest have come in handy more than once. Additionally, though he is far from a marksman with the bow he carries, Eboegar’s skills with a sword, axe and spear have helped the 2 survive more than a few tests of arms. Plus, knowing and being known by other poachers, smugglers, and lowborn freedmen has advantages that a knight would not otherwise have.

I wonder if starting out with an LA module will be a problem, are there any that you all have read or know too much about that would cause me concern?

Yeah, I have a few too, but never really read them thoroughly, and what reading I did do was when Gary was still alive. So I don't recall Jack.

Hey Rigon, I can't find the main rule book, I only have the Essentials set, the Lejendary Masters Lore and Bestiary, so may need help with the main book as well, unless I find the darn thing. I could swear I had it, and the fact that I have the other two just makes me more certain that I do have the main book. I... just... need... to... find... it.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I found it, it was mixed in with my Kenzer stuff.

Are you?. We are going to be starting up an LA game on the Mondays opposite mine now that we wrapped up Tree's campaign.

Just interested in seeing what everyone is thinking of playing. I'm leaning toward either a Bravo or a unaligned character.

I am thinking a Knight, or close to it.
