Putting my miniatures together...
Putting my miniatures together...
So this weekend whilst enjoying a long holiday in the US for Veterans Day, I decided to finally get around to assembling some of my Miniatures.
Like some folks out there, I tend to collect more minis than I ever get around to assembling let alone painting.
I managed to hold back from getting in on the first two Reaper bones Kickstarters, though became a backer of the CAV: Strike Operations - cause you can never have too many big stompy robots.
I do have BattleTech (all from the Box set), they're assembled and half of them are painted.
Warhammer 40K and I have a long relationship. I started back in the mid-90s with 2nd Edition, but finally stopped when the Dark Vengeance Box Set came out. I picked up the latest rules, but I'm on a hiatus as I never really did that much gaming for 40K to begin with so just couldn't justify buying another box set (i.e. the DV set). Especially since the only box set I put together was the 2nd Edition one with the small orks. So multiple still in the sprue orks, space marines, and tyranids floating in the box sets, then the extra boxes I picked up for my ork and Imperial Guard armies, as well.
I delved into Flames of War liking they system and the Open Fire box set (which I did paint and assemble and use!!!) I picked up a US Airborne Company. Two platoons and the HQ still sit in training mode, unassembled.
When LOTR came out I played a few demo games and really liked it. Still quite a good game, so I picked up the green fellowship box (and got another one on sale at like 1/2 price), the red Two-Towers box and then the Blue ROTK box, and then the Mines of Moria (somehow ended up with two of MoM as well). All still in sprue and unassembled, with several individual type minis for the game and the Fellowship in metal.
Ships from my Battle Fleet Gothic set sit in the ship yard of sprue land as well.
I managed to land a display case (our china cabinet that we didn't know where to put after some redecorating - I volunteered to re-purpose it to put my minis in and that meant my wife did have to put on consignment or get rid of it). And as I put up all the mini's I do have painted, I decided that I've waited long enough. I set a goal of simply assembly. I can worry about base coats, washes, detail painting and basing later. If I get them put together I call it a win.
So over the weekend, I put together the green, red, and blue box, along with a MoM box and several individual minis. All told about 170 or so models. Using Zapp glue without a mask wasn't all that fun, but it did the trick and all told I managed to put together about 170 models.
Eventually I'll take a picture, but now I'm onto assembling some Battle Fleet Gothic Imperial Navy Ships, to join my space marine fleet (all base coated white, but not painted and there are casualties which need to be glued back together) against the eternal war on the Ork Fleet (all painted and named, but they too have some drop casualties) led by a giant space hulk asteroid (which combines imperial, ork and necro ships in a smashed jumble)
What really helped though, and of course to tie it all back to the great crusade...
I have a Nook HD Tablet, with the EZ PDF reader app. It offers a great feature of reading the PDFs to you. Over the last year I've been running a group of adventurers around Blacktooth Ridge, so as part of my game prep, I simply pulled out the Umbrage Saga and hit play and the module is read to me, all while I'm cutting, sanding, filing, and gluing.
So to all of you out there with minis on the sprue - you can do it!
To you have them assembled put unpainted - you can base coat them!!
To those of you with assembled and base coated minis - Choose a just one and paint...You can do it!!
I'm praying for you!

I've noticed that there isn't a forum section for minis or gaming accessories... and there probably is a reason that this noob doesn't know about...
But since this thread has survived... I'll add to it.
1st off... I SUCK at painting...
I am a better art critic than I am an artist... so be it. But I LIKE painting.
I have a ton of old school ral partha from my early gaming days, and when friends of mine knew I was getting back "into" the hobby, they sent me a bunch of stuff gratis, so I have a mountain of lead to tackle....
Anyway, here are some first attempts...
Gnolls... anyone recognize the maker?
Tried my hand at some Skeletons... ral partha 80s vintage is my guess
And lastly, some newly acquired Orc Archers... they look warhammer-ish to my eye. WIP

Yeah, I suck at painting too. I'll only show the ones I get my wife or daughter to paint for me.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Re: Putting my miniatures together...
Something I should get into again. Demoralized after a challenging dragon kept falling apart and then when I got it together, got knocked off a table before the big unveil, a capstone combat in our final 3.5 game. I learned about pinning and different adhesives at least.
Plus, I just don't have a good surface in the house to work on, we don't have enough room to keep all of that stuff set up.
I still have a lot of goblins, hobgoblins and humans to paint. I am not good at it but I think each one gets better.

Re: Putting my miniatures together...
Part of my problem is that I have visited miniature specific forums and seen some really outstanding, show winning quality work....
And then compare my Minis to those... which is unfair to my skill set. I have painted, in my life, maybe a total of 25 minis (8 before 1985) and the 17 above that I did over Christmas.
To get good you you have to paint... a lot.
My goal is not really to enter a contest of painting skill, its to provide fun props to use with games. The more I paint, the better I'll get, and those table top props will look more appealing. But I think there is a difference in quality for figures that are going to be used on a kitchen table, handled repeatedly, dropped by folks that didn't paint them etc and ones that are painted and sit on a shelf never touched.
Just musing on my part....

Re: Putting my miniatures together...
I think that is a key statement and one that really resonates with me.Revfan wrote:My goal is not really to enter a contest of painting skill, its to provide fun props to use with games.
Certainly I'm not taking away from the folks that can do magic with the various paints out there and really take the 3-D canvas of a miniature and make it come alive (figuratively speaking...pun intended. n ) If you can do it, make it happen. As far as my skills go. It's been quite a while since I've painted, I think I do "OK". I'm using the excuse of assembling all my mini's first before I paint.
I'm in no rush, as right now my C&C game is played over Fantasy Grounds 2 (the virtual table top), so a few players come over, but only have to set-up their computer. When I do game face to face, I like to have all the props and books that I can muster. The last year I really have relied on the Pathfinder Pawns, which are cool and I really like, but their is always something different about miniatures. Especially miniature you create (i.e. paint, modify, base, etc.).
My progress so far:
My recent miniature build push was quite successful, so I have plenty of LOTR stuff for fantasy - Orcs and Gobbos to use now, along with Heroes. The extra LOTR Green Box and Mines of Moria set remain in the box, but the other four - the red, green, and blue LOTR along with Mines of Moria are complete and assembled.
My Reaper minis - I've bought some stuff individually from my FLGS I've got standing by, but need to base several of them, as none of the Reaper Mini's came with bases. I'll likely use left over warhammer 40k bases for mediums (Mostly heroes, villagers). For the bigger ones - Storm Giants, Frost Giant, Fire Giant, Trolls, etc. I'm likely going to kit-bash some of the Pathfinder Pawns bases.
All my 40K boxes are done save one and that is at 50%. I'm in the midst of finishing up the Assault on Black Reach box set. The Orks are assembled, and I'm working on the Space Marines now. Just a few left and hopefully I'll finish them up this week.
My Battle Fleet Gothic Box Set minis' are assembled. Though I destroyed two ships (an empire and a chaos) years ago to create an Ork Space Hulk. I'm in a pause-ex with them as I need to buy some new flying bases to fix my Ork Fleet (all painted), and Space Marine Fleet (all based white) as a fall from the closet a few years ago broke some stuff, and I think I have one ship left (an Ork Kroozer) to assemble).
Haven't touched any of the Flames of War yet. Those are kind of low on the Totem Pole, but thanks for the push here.

Re: Putting my miniatures together...
A year or two back, there was a guy I know selling a bunch of miniatures. Seeing as I like them for Warhammer Quest and could care less about the GW official stance, I bought several. My miniature collection essentially tripled. None of them are painted. None of the boxes/blisters are opened. I doubt they ever will be. I just don't have the desire to paint them or display them.
Re: Putting my miniatures together...
I guess then, Warhammer Quest is on the backburner for you right now? I'v never played it, but from what I've heard it is a pretty cool game. No. Warhammer Quest is never on the back burner. But... I'm not going to use GW / Citadel miniatures only, nor do I feel they have to be painted. I can play the game fine with the mess of figures the game came with, but I did buy a whole lot to use with it... if I get a chance. Don't like WQ with 2 players.TheMetal1 wrote:I guess then, Warhammer Quest is on the backburner for you right now? I'v never played it, but from what I've heard it is a pretty cool game. As for the miniatures I picked up... a bunch of Reaper stuff, from the Legends line, as I remember. Also some of the Dark Heaven stuff. A few giant terrain pieces (2 of the same model, from different makers -- a castle / keep) and some other stuff.
If I could afford it and had the time, I would buy molds to make my own. Or, get a good 3d printer, if I had art skill.
Re: Putting my miniatures together...
My Progress So Far:
Well, I'm about done with all the 40K Boxed Starter Sets and have started on some other 40K Space Marine Miniatures I've had in storage box. Not sure when/where I got these. I had two tackle type boxes that put the Un-assembled miniatures in, all the pieces to form a marine in one small section, One back had about 11 and bunch of bits, and the other has about 20. I realized I had left the Land Speeder that came with one of the sets floating around in the game room in a box, so that's on the table being assembled.
The box of 11 has been pretty challenging as it's more pieces than normal - torso has two parts, legs, base, head, backpack, weapons, 2 arms, and any accessories I want to add (secondary weapons/pistol, Knife, grenades, auspex, ammo pouch, etc.) and none of them snap on.
I typically use Zzap to glue and while great seems to work a bit slower on the models lately. Additionally, my game rooms not super big, and venting it in the winter is not really an option. So rather than simply inhale fumes and burn the heck out of sinus cavity, I use a mask which works quite well.
Anyway, I'm about finished with 9 of the 11. The other two are missing legs (A regular Space Marine and a Space Marine Sergeant with a Chainsword and pistol who is also missing the back side of his torso/chest). I kit bashed them to finish/repair some orks on my stompa. Ahh well. Have to search around for more.
The 20 something box will be a breeze to put together as most are snap together. Quite looking forward to finishing the Marines up. Then probably on to Imperial Guard, yeah I know they got a new name, but their still Guard to me.

Re: Putting my miniatures together...
Well, finally finished up the Space Marines. Land Speeder was the last of it. I have quite a bits box now for Space Marine stuff, and basically the up half of two space marines (tactical marine and a sergeant)
I sat down last night and went through all the Marines and organized them into squads going off the new Space Marine codex. Then I used Army Builder to figure out what exactly I could field in a battle. Right now here is what I can field:
Combined Arms Detachment: 2363 Points.
HQ: Chaplain and 5 Marine Command Squad
Troops: 5 Tactical Space Marine Squads with 10 Marines each 7 are armed with Boltguns and the other two have either a Krak Missile Launcher or Flamer (one of each in the squad - though one squad has Plasma Canon instead of a Missile). They are lead by 1 Veteran Sergeant (He's the 10th man in the squad), and either has a Chain Sword or Powerfist and a Bolt Pistol. There is a 6th Squad that has 7 Marines wit a Flamer.
Heavy: Vernable Dreadnought with Twin-Linked Heavy Flamer, Power Fist.
A full Terminator Squad with 10 Terminator Marines. The Terminator Sergeant has a power sword and storm bolter. The 7 Marines are armed with Powerfists and 2 of them have a Chainfist. Of the big guns the remainder have storm bolters, one has an assault canon and one has a cyclone missile launcher.
Devastator Squad with 10 Marines (includes a Veteran Sergeant with powerfist), the 4 big guns are 2 lascanons, 1 heavy bolter and 1 Missile Launcher
Fast Attack: 1 Land Speeder Squadron (just one speeder) with a Multi-melta and Assault canon
I'm in the process of organizing my Orks now and finishing up the Army Builder, I'm closer to 3000 points with them. Next up on the assembly of Miniatures is a Grot Squad and Runtherder, then on to the Ork Battle Wagon.

My Bones II arrived last week. I think I could paint a miniature per week and not get done for decades. Especially since I only have a few dozen done from Bones I. Plus I have yet to paint anything from the CAV Kickstarter Reaper did.

Re: Putting my miniatures together...
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I'd say a good 75% of my miniatures are unpainted (all the LOTR and most of the Space Marines, IG and a few orks, 2 blood bowl teams, 3 platoons of US Airborne for flames of war, a flames of war plane, some battle fleet gothic stuff, several BattleTech and few later purchase individuals of Bones I).
I got in on the Kickstarter for CAV as well, still waiting for them to show up (probably June). I keep thinking I just might get a Bones 2 Package for $150, but the $60 shipping or whatever is takes it out of the realm of real for me.

Re: Putting my miniatures together...
So, did a bit of modeling this weekend and this week.
I went through a few of my board games and decided to set up Space Hulk. I do this periodically to revisit old games or try out ones I haven't gotten around to. Space Hulk was one I've had for it but but never played. Opening the box, I realized hadn't put together my Space Hulk Miniatures. 12 Space Marines and 22 Tyranids. I cut them out of the sprue and threw them in the box, but that was it.
So had an enjoyable Sunday afternoon trimming, sanding and gluing the miniatures together. The first scenario is set up and ready to run now.
As I was now in assembly mode, I pulled out the Ork Battlewagon that I've had sitting around since like 2011. It's now partially assembled and hope to have it done by the end of the week.
As a side note, I did complete the Grot Squad and Runt-Herder along with 3 Goff Rockers - yeah Warhammer 40K Orks with Guitars and Mohawks. I also found one of the first miniatures I ever bought back in the day when I first started playing. I decided to put it on a medium base and eventually, like all the others I'm assembling, paint it. After searching the inter-webs, I found out what it was actually called and who made it (the base says 1979):
#02-031 Dwarf Striking with Spear by Tom Meier
Here is a picture of it. Note this is just a stock image not the one I have, but it's the same thing.
After that I think I'm moving on to the remainder of the 2 boxes of Cadian Imperial Guard units (about 20 each along with whatever else I have floating around for IG).
So that leaves, I think the following on my somewhat growing list.
1. The extra LOTR Green Box
2. The extra Mines of Moria Box
3. Ork Kill Kroozer for Battle Fleet Gothic
4. Box of Warhammer Fantasy Skeletons chariots
5. Dwarven Boltthrower and Dwarf gunner team for Warhammer Fantasy
6. 2 Platoons and an HQ of US Airborne Infantry for Flames of War
7. P-38 Lighting Aircraft of Flames of War
8. Basing of my Fantasy Heroes/Humans collection (21 of them) and Fantasy Vermin (rats, scorpions, bats, spiders etc.) - various individual releases from Reaper Bones collection
9. Assembly and basing of Troll, Frost Giant, Fire Giant, Storm Giant and Hill Giant from Reaper Bones
10. Assembly and basing (maybe) of a Kraken from Reaper Bones
11. Fixing and re-basing of some of the Orks Ships for Battle Fleet Gothic
12. Fixing and re-basing of some of the Space Marine Ships for Battle Fleet Gothic
13. Fixing and basing of some of the Mechs from Battle-Tech Classic Box set and one or two lone mech miniatures
14. 8 or Civil War Calvary Riders and Horses from a Box Set
15. Box set of Dork Tower Miniatures
16. Munchkin Level Tracker Miniature
17. Box of Warhammer Fantasy Infantry Regiment
18. On the Horizon will be the CAV: Strike Operations miniatures once they come in.
May seem like a lot, but after doing all the ones earlier I can see progress.

18. On the Horizon will be the CAV: Strike Operations miniatures once they come in.
May seem like a lot, but after doing all the ones earlier I can see progress.

Re: Putting my miniatures together...
so managed to put together a few minis since i last wrote.
1. the P38 Lightening was a quick one. it actually came with magnets. The plane itself was one piece except for the nose and propeller areas which had some small metal caps. Makes a nice flames of war piece.
2. Got some Warlord minis bases - a bit cheaper than the GW set I was going to buy. It came with an assortment of sizes. Anyway, i had some older Space Marine Terminators that were set on medium bases, so i just glued then base and all to new bigger base as that is the standard now for 40k.
3. Also based all my giants. had a reaper bones group - hill, frost, fire, and storm giant along with a troll. Used the Warlord bases for all of them except the storm. The warlord bases are the same size as the GW but a large base is bigger than a pathfinder or WOTC large base. I ended up usung a pathfinder pawn huge base for the storm giant and it works well to show difference between giants.
4. Fixed all the ships in my space marine fleet for Battlefleet Gothic. Mostly drilling and rebasing.
5. Started on my Imperial guard army fo 40k. I had the weapons on the bsses for 9 heavy weapons teams - 3 mortars, 3 lascanons,1 missile launcher, 1 bolter, 1 autocanon. but only 2 mortsrs and the rocket launcher were complete meaning posed with two soldiers. i used all the remaining guard from thr box set including some other bits to get it nearly done. All that is left is one las canon needs a full team, and another lascanon needs the gunner. I used a wounded dude from the command team set with one of the mortars and used drivers/gunners left from a tank set to be a partially dug in bolter team. I did get one extra commissar out of the box as well armed with a chain sword and las pistol.
6. Fixed the broken arm on one of my battletech mechs.
7. Based all the reapear bones adventurer minis i had about 25 of them - halflings, wizards, fighters, barkeeps, etc. using the warlord bases. one other note on the bases is that the warlord bases while the same circumfrance as most medium bases they are thinner.
8. Put together an old warhammer fantasy dwarf bolt thrower team - dwarves and the
Thrower
9. Glued up a warhammer fantasy gobo and dwarf that may have come from and old White Dwarf mag.
10. Put together the metal fellowship of thr rings set. A bit different pose from the mines of moria. these were released when the green LOTR box sets came out.
11. Got a few more vermin from the reaper bones stuff i picked up based now. Still more than half to go.
So more progress. Yeah! Thank God!!
Then, of course, I somehow decide to buy the new flames of war open fire set. Here is the link: http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=530
Well, on my paint / glue desk is th reaper kraken is open and ready to be assembled, along with my busted ork ships for battle fleet gothic waiting to be repaired.
After that I'll work on the 2 unopened IG boxes for 40k.

Re: Putting my miniatures together...
Thanks Tree, will start on it now.
As a side note here is the latest progress. Normally I just use Zzap, but dang it burns the heck out of my nostrils even with good venting or outside. I talked with one my FLGS owner about glue and he recommended using plastic glue for plastic and Zzap or something else for metal or metal to plastic, as Zzap for plastic makes it brittle. Sure enough, the Storm giant quickly fell off - back on the base now with plastic glue from Gale Force 9.
1. I finished gluing bases on all the Reaper Bones vermin. Note, I didn't get in on either 2 kickstarters, this was just picks from a couple of games stores that had stuff.
2. Opened up the Reaper Bones Kraken and got 'em all assembled. Pretty easy assembly. No base, but it comes with a sunken ship as a stand. I'm working on a C&C Adventure involving one so it justified my purchase! (Note: I've been working on that module now for several years, it's at the 90% solution with Art and layout, but need to go back and redo it as the original Microsoft Publisher file disappeared on me - some day!)
3. All the Ork Fleet is now fixed. I had fix the bases on several of them, much like the Space Marine fleet. I ended up drilling the stands using strong wire for the smaller ships and then a thin nail for the bigger ship.
4. I am now in the process of finishing up the last ship in the Ork Fleet - Gorbag's Revenge. I just glued on the last 2 pieces - a side gun section and side fighter wing section. I've had that one floating around since like 2003. Glad to see it nearly done.

Tree, as per your request:
The Miniature Cabinet
A gathering of giants...where will we attack next.
The unpainted ones are from Reaper Bones, the others are pre-paints from WOTC.
Here is the Dwarf and Gobbo that came from, IIRC, a White Dwarf Magazine
The Metalic Dragons arrive...All from the WOTC D&D Attack Wing. Bahaumet is there in the Back.

Re: Putting my miniatures together...
So today is November 1st 2015. My goal was to try to get all my miniatures assembled. I didn't quite get there and like all good miniature war gamers, I've managed to acquire event more. From the last time I posted, here are the things I completed
1. 8 or Civil War Calvary Riders and Horses from a Box Set
2. Box set of Dork Tower Miniatures
3. Box of Warhammer Fantasy Empire Infantry Regiment
But today, while not yet Veteran's Day (where I was a year ago), I did finally start painting. So my game room table is a mess with various paints. I decided to start with my Classic BattleTech Box set miniatures. They were base coated black along time ago, and half them are already painted. I figured it was a good place to practice. The quality of miniatures is OK and I've given myself a lot of grace! More to follow as I work on these and all the rest.
Anyway, in terms of assembly of miniatures, here is what is left...
1. The extra LOTR Green Box
2. The extra Mines of Moria Box
3. Fixing and basing of some of the Mechs from Battle-Tech Classic Box set and one or two lone mech miniatures (Partially Complete)
4. Munchkin Level Tracker Miniature
5. Box of Warhammer Fantasy Skeleton Chariots
6. New Open Fire Box set for Flames of War
7. 2 Boxes of IG Infantry
8. Assassinorium Box Set
9. BattleTech Box Set (new version)
10. 2 Platoons and an HQ of US Airborne Infantry for Flames of War
On the Horizon as they come in...
1. CAV: Strike Operations Miniatures
2. Reaper Bones III
1. 8 or Civil War Calvary Riders and Horses from a Box Set
2. Box set of Dork Tower Miniatures
3. Box of Warhammer Fantasy Empire Infantry Regiment

Re: Putting my miniatures together...
OK, so I'm painting and customizing my miniatures now. The BattleTech Figures are interesting. I don't like the bases the original models came on. Though they are stable and safe from a "drop" off the table as it's all a one piece mold, It wasn't a full hex, which I found annoying. Anyway, I cut a few of the old models off the bases and glued them to a 30 mm Hex Figure Bases I found on Amazon. They're not Catalyst Game Labs or Iron Winds stuff, but it does the job.
I painted a lance over the last few days, two actually, just to get back into the swing of things. I'm using a mix of paints. Which has been an interesting experience. I bough the Mega paint set back in the day with the metal case. A lot of the paints unfortunately have dried out. Still a lot there is good though. I have Skymetal Blue I got with my Reaper Cav books, and have the Lord of the Rings Paint Set (Green Box), from back in 2001 - much to my surprise, as I've never used them, the paint was still good! Also have Flames of War paint set and some acrylics from Michael's. I've managed to pick up some of the new GW paints as well (haven't opened it yet).
Anyway, I took the some Goblin Green Desert Yellow to paint 4 of the mechs which is centered on the Atlas using that color. I added some metal coloring to the desert yellow for the Atlas giving it a nice metalic effect that the others don't have. I then drybrushed some boltgun metal (though I think was more silver) on the rest of the areas. I came back a few days latter and used desert camo over the yellow which turned out nice. Then went with the Reaper's Skyblue Metal to the metalic areas, another win (IMHO). Still need to touch up the green and may add an ink wash, but ready for play as they are.
The other 4 mech lance, I used GW's midnight blue and then used GWs light Ice blue as a camo pattern. Will need a wash and drybrush and still not sure of what I think, but it's a start and table ready.
I took all my Imperial Guard and base coated them Desert Yellow. Been wanting to do that with since I was in deployed.
I have a Baneblade that is nearly finished in a Desert Yellow digital pattern (as you can see up thread). Also based my Orks that haven't had any love in Camo Green (Flames of War Spray Paint). The Battle Wagon got sprayed in Black and Red and I like the look of it already.
Lastly, I took my Ork WarTruk and Added on extensions. According to the current Ork Codex a Wartruk can hold 12 Models. So I added Warlord Long Bases (which will hold 2 minatures) on to each side, the top and 2 on the back. With the Cargo hold of the truck I can actually field 12 Models racing down the field. Spray painted it red and green, will need to touch it up a bit (already painted before). I think I'll add some bars as well. Thats it for now.

Re: Putting my miniatures together...
1. Ork Truk. I've added roll bars to the cargo area. That will contain the models as they race down the table. Pretty cool to see all 12 Orks in the Truk. Still need to add the Wrecking Ball. I've decided to move all the Orks back into the display case and focus on other projects.
2. BattleTech. All the lances and miniatures are painted from the box. Still some tweaking I want do on a few of them, and of course the Base transfers/flocking. But I'm happy where they're all at now. Definitely playable.
3. IG is out on the table for painting. Spent some time yesterday going through the latest codex ponder Force Org from the latest IG Codex (Astarta something). I'm basically one Infantry Squad short to having a "good" list. Anyway, I do have 2 boxes of IG Infantry, probabaly enough for 3 squads and rounding out the rest of the models. In other news I'm about done with the Baneblade. Might add some dark brown to the treads, or sand flocking (maybe both), but overall it's done.
4. As Kings of War by Mantic is a new interest to me, I decided to put together an Orc list from all my LOTR miniatures. I've 954 points work as it stands right now. A Regiment of Axes (20 Orcs with Swords/Shields); A Regiment of Great Axes (20 Orcs with Pikes, 2-Handed Axes and Spears); A Regiment of Trolls (2 Reaper's Marsh Troll and LOTR Troll); 3 Giants (a Reaper Hill Giant, Storm Giant and Frost Giant). Last night I base coated them green and have started work on the Storm Giant. Just picked up the 2nd Reaper Troll and that will be coated in a few minutes. I may add in a Troop of Goblin Archers or Orc Archers to put me over 1,000 points, which is what our FLGS is playing these days
