Post Re: What are you reading?
Last night, I went to the local library with my wife and sons. The 11 year-old borrowed the book I took out last time, "The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom," along with "The Thief Lord" by Cornelia Funke. I borrowed the Hero's Guide sequel, "The Hero's Guide to Storming the Castle." I hope it's as much fun as the first book!

The 1 year-old made loud noises and embarrassed us.

;)

I like that series Aergraith. It's not particularly fancy writing, but a good read and adventure nonetheless. I may have to dive in an read it again. It's been a 2 or 3 years.

Well, I'm still working on the last book of the Prism Pentad Series for Dark Sun - The Cerulean Storm. I've got a few others I'm reading simultaneously (thank you Samsung Nook).

1. The Complete Wizard of Oz Collection: All 15 Books (L. Frank Baum)
2. Strategic Operations (for BattleTech by Catalyst Game Labs)
3. The Power of Imagination (Kerry Kirkwood and Sid Roth)
4. Dream Encounters: Seeing Your Destiny from God's Perspective (Barbie Breathitt)
5. CAV: Strike Operations Preview (for Reaper Miniature Game)

I keep meaning to give those books a try, how are they so far?

I’m currently reading Kim Newman’s Anno Dracula: Johnny Alucard. So far we have Francis Ford Coppola making Dracula in the 70s with the cast, crew, and nightmarish experience of Apocalypse Now. And that includes a mumbling overweight Marlon Brando playing Dracula.

Also, I’ve been slowly reading the Dragonriders of Pern series for the first time. Currently on the third book, The White Dragon. Considering how far back the series’ origin goes, it’s interesting to see where so many of the dragon-rider tropes began.

I'm on Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz (written in 1908). It's the 5th book in the series. IIRC it was in the original Appendix N so that kind of spurred my interest in wanting to read the series. Obviously written for Children, there are some cool ideas in there to use for a game. So far it's a good series I'm reading it a few pages at time as the mood strikes me.

Brak the Barbarian. Much better than I expected. Lots of good ideas for my campaign.

I bought all the Oz books by Baum decades ago for my daughter. I ended up reading most of them. :D

Rebel Yell: The Violence, Passion, and Redemption of Stonewall Jackson by S. C. Gwynne

A gift from my sister-in-law for Christmas. Good read, fascinating subject. Some of his traits would be great for a memorable NPC king or general.

Reading several things...well...listening really (Thank you very much Audible).

Just finished up "Descent Into the Depths" by Paul Kidd and am now on "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman.
Listening periodically to "The Eyes of the Overlord" by Jack Vance and "Purging Your House, Pruning Your Family Tree" by Perry Stone

My wife's fall production was based on that book. It was called "Who Walks in the Night."

As usual, I am reading RPG stuff. Currently the Coyote Trail western RPG. Pretty darn good, and best of all, pretty simple.

That's usually what I read, too, Treebore, RPG stuff. I feel guilty sometimes because my wife is usually hip deep in some novel and I'm not as refined as her. That guilt usually fades away, in about 2 seconds.

I might have to take a small break from my aforementioned Whisper & Venom, though. My FLGS texted me yesterday to let me know that my copy of the End of the World RPG: Zombie Apocalypse just came in. So I'm going to go down and pick that up today.

Last night I spent a little while penciling errata into Traveller 5 and then reading Covert Ops and Barebones Fantasy. I am still hoping for and looking forward to FrontierSpace, but if it takes much longer I'll just do my own d00lite version of Star Frontiers.

I NEED to be reading Killing Patton by Bill O'Reilly. Still haven't yet. That, and a million other novels. :(

How do you size these things? The small pictures come out large and the large pictures come out small.
