Amazing Adventures: Curse of the pearl dagger

Post by Ronin77 »

Last night I ran Amazing Adventures, my first game in a campaign I have had planed for a while now. Kicked off with a train ride to pick up a package from a museum. A fight with a brute. Fighting off shadow men. A chase on the train ride back. A car chase, with tommy guns. And ending the day with research into the mysterious dagger. Not bad for a socialite (the snob) and the Arcanist <wisdom> (the hippy). I figured they would have a rough time with only having two players, and neither having any physical primes. But besides a few bumps and bruised they did well.

One of the best quotes" "better face down in a puddle than ride coach"

Other great quotes:
"I'm thinking we have different ideas of what a fencing foil is"

"Oh its on now, here hold my wig"

"who has the suitcase?" "where is the suit case?" this is asked about 2 dozen times each...finally later on it the night..."Ok, I got the suit case..let me write that down" Another player "Oh now you want to write it down!!?!"

"Snob" to the "hippie" after he casts blinding mists in the back on a moving Packard.. "what are you smoking back there"

The socialite-"I'll just drive up on the side walk"
The Arcanist-"why? he will just follow us up on the sidewalk"
The socialite- "oh yeah, good call"

The socialite- "I'm taking the trench coat and the tommygun.
The Arcanist- "you do realize that makes you look like the suspects the police are looking for".
The socialite- "ok then Ill ditch the coat and just walk off the train with the tommygun"
ME- "uuummm"

My plan is to have a story arc that will revolve around this dagger. At some point the spell will come to light to banish the cursed dagger. This should take 5-6 adventures. Then we will switch over to C&C and the same dagger will make an appearance. The idea is to run two parallel stories. With 5-6 adventures in each game before switching. Actions in one will spill over into the other in odd ways.

Over all my players loved the AA game. It was great fun.

Honestly I'm really excited to hear more about your games, I loved the quotes and just the little blurb about it. It keeps me interested in playing this until my gaming crew gets that far.

Sorry the game got really delayed. Real life (serious illness in the family) put a kibash on the game. We should be picking up here soon.
