Crusader #23?

It's all gone a bit quiet, don't you think?

I vaguely remember someone saying that #23 will be delayed a bit.

I really don't care if it skips a month, goes bi-monthly or whatever, as long as my subscription is honoured that is all that matters.

Steve mentioned it on one of the TLG videos. He does a lot of writing for the magazine, and that had to take a backburner while he's working on the Monsters of Ahirde and the CKG. That's the reason.

Why? I'd think that with the business to run, he'd get some freelancers to write up the magazine.

JMW is always asking for contributions - if there were enough to make up for Steve's normal page count, I'm sure there wouldn't be a delay.

I've been more lax than normal regarding my regular contribution, and I need to focus more on that, but anyone interested should SEND JIM YOUR STUFF.

As far as I know, there's no $ involved but there is a nice side effect of seeing your work in print and you DO get to take credit for it. Crusader work is part of what got me my current job.

I've got something to submit. My part is done just waiting for my co-writer to finish her part. If it goes over well, I have plenty of ideas to make it a regular column.

I have no problem with the fact that the gig doesn't pay. I do, however, hope that they can send the issue, it appears in, to my co-writer. I've already got a subscription but she doesn't.

Edit: If the underlined wasn't true, I don't think you'd get many submissions,

No pay? Not even copies?

That maybe the problem right there, though I am surprised with all the content in the Domesbooks and here on the forum. You could almost do a "fan created classes" column on that stuff alone.

No money, but, yes, you you do get comp copies. I generally take my comp copies to conventions to give out to players in my games, hoping to get a subscriber or two interested in the magazine.

Hmm, I've enjoyed the Crusader since #1; maybe it's high time I did try and give a little back.

Worth a stab, anyway, wot?

Not sure what I think about the new logo just yet. USPS put it in my mailbox again, so it got a little dinged. It's the comic collector in me. Steve's tales from the road mentioned Sikeston. Right here in my neck of the woods. I've heard a few tales from the road(including this one) at conventions, but it was good reading. The picture of Davis was worth the price of admission. hehe Gotta watch out for those cops in Illinois, particularly on a stretch of 57 around Cairo. They're always in pairs. Former Gov. Badhairovich must have been getting half of the state's revenue from speeding tickets. hehehe

Back Cover Says:

"The World of Aihrde. 9 Full Color Maps. Coming in 2011"

Above the text is a picture of what appears to be a miniature version of what appears to be the full world map.

Buddy, that picture on the back is probably only ONE of the NINE maps. See what I did there with the bold type? Yeah you see it.

It was a rainy day today and nothing was going on - other than me going to work out and eventually having to do some professional writing. As soon as I got done, the weather broke and sun started to come out, so I took the dogs for a walk. It was then that I heard the clanging of mail box doors opening and slamming shut, along side the tell tale sound of the Post Office vehicle reving and stopping. I walked with the dogs around back and the opened up my box...

The shine seemed to shine a little brighter and as I reached in there was no vicious hand trap, rather the best of all treasure - a white envelope with the Troll Lord Logo. Yes, it was indeed Crusader 23. Hoody Hoo!

lol - funny when you immediately catch something that should have been obvious - I reversed the A. and B. locations in The Crystal Crypt - they are opposite in the descriptions from the map... ok, so just flip those around there.

I think Rhuvein's 7of9 picture is too big. Other than that, the Crusader is a fine publication.

The new map of Airhde for the upcoming World of Airhde ad had me geeked. I had to get my reading glasses on, but I could make out new locations mapped on there that are not on the folio or codex maps, much to my delight. Can't wait for that one!

The map that is on the back of Crusader #23, for the most part, is also included in The Umbrage Saga box set. Though clearly it is only a small part of a bigger map project by Pete Bradley.
