Haunted Highlands threads on the TLG boards

Post by finarvyn »

THIS THREAD IS ABOUT TO BECOME USELESS. WE NOW HAVE A SECTION ON THE BOARDS! :D

Haunted Highlands links on the Troll Lords boards

In June, 2009, I set out to make a listing of all of the Haunted Highlands threads on the TLG boards. We were up to 44 of them before the move from the old boards to the new ones. At this time, all of the links changed. The following list is in the same order as when the threads were created. Along the way, a few threads seem to have vanished but I found three I had missed the first time! I will do my best to keep this list up to date, at least until such as time as the Trolls decide to give the Haunted Highlands their own space on the boards. :D

Links on the current TLG boards are here:

Nope, but I have done similar things with Lankhmar on the Mongoose boards and Blackmoor on the DF boards.

When I'm searching for something it helps to have links all collected together, so while I'm going through the pages often I'll just accumulate the links.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: My plan is to update the OP at the top of the thread so that all of the new links are there. I'm going to use the bottom half of this thread to store all of the 44 links for the old TLG board. You can read 'em but don't post to 'em.

UPDATE:

Number of HH threads before I created this one = 38

Number of HH threads after I created this one = 0.

THOUGHT #1:

Perhaps nobody plays HH any more, and thus has no reason to discuss it any more.

THOUGHT #2:

Perhaps everyone is so enthused by my gathering of threads that they are doing nothing but reading the old ones (so easy to find now) and have no time to discuss HH any more until they finish reading them.

I'm hoping for #2.

#3 They see that what they were about to post has already gotten a thread/answer so don't do so.

#4 Casey hasn't replied in these threads an so people wait.

Course, the plus side of getting the latest spate of big books done and over with is that I now have much more time to get back to the A series and the HH series. Which will give folks something new to talk about here soon.

Yes, I think the HH series needs some new life breathed into it... where's that Haunted Highlands Folio (or box set) again?
And if you haven't already, make sure you pick up a copy of the Black Libram of Nartarus. It's bad to the bone.

Just got it in the mail yesterday, but haven't had a chance to look at it yet.

My son wants to play some sort of Necromancer, so I thought it would be fun to throw stuff from the Black Libram at them and slowly leak spells and stuff to him after the party gets smacked down by them.

Tentative plan. Things may change once I read the book, however.

Just wanted to give this thread a little "bump" since I added a couple more threads to the top post.

It would still be nice to have a forum for Haunted Highlands.

Or, put HH and Tainted Lands together into one forum for horror-style C&C. Just me thinking out loud.

I betcha once the Haunted Highlands setting is released in full glory, there will be a seperate forum. Otherwise, agreed.

Interesting. I have now discovered that in moving to the new boards, none of the links in my OP work any more. (And going back to my source file in Word, the links appear to go to the wrong places. Strange.)

Back to the drawing board.

Whew. That was a bunch of work.

I went through all 14 pages of threads and found the new numbers for each of the existing Haunted Highlands stuff I could find. Seems like a few threads may have vanished (or they may be in other sections of the boards -- I'll have to look some more) but I did also find three HH threads that I had missed the first time! :D

All of this has been updated on the first post of this thread.

If you want links to the threads on the old boards, they can be found in the 3rd post from the top (my 2nd post).

I should get some free product or something for doing this!

Marv, thanks for your efforts!!

I'm finally catching up on HH. I played in a HH game for a year or so and did not buy any additional modules after the first one.

So, I'll be buying and reading those threads in the next few weeks.

Also, I agree with the idea of a separate forum for HH and Dirty Bowbe.

Remember the first TLG discussion board - they had a Dirty Bowbe forum.
