I figured I'd err on the side of being prudent. Visitors will still be able to read, just not post or reply.

The exceptions are the Society forum, and I believe the LGGC forum.

If the Trolls tell me otherwise, I'll undo it.

Rigon's got a point. We do need a forum space for folks having trouble logging in...which at the moment includes Gary Gygax. Fiff and I'll brainstorm some solution.

Considering that Fiff mentioned that he left the Society forum open for guest posting, I'd say that a solution is already present. ^_^

True, but, people have to realize that's where they go... so, perhaps a forum called "Support" or something similar, so it can be resolved in a faster, easier manner.

I altered the Permissions on Open Discussion to allow guests to post, mainly for the Gary thread. I don't want to force anyone to get an account to pay tribute to him.

Things will remain that way for a while.

It is set to 5 post before you can use a url/img link.

There is no need to allow that; people can post plain text links. Like this:

Not much at all. But we generally don't have the forums open for 'guest' posting either. We just want this to be a friendly place with real folk talking to each other. The measures set to ensure that may seem a bit harsh initially, but it avoids a lot of unnecessary clutter.
