What reason is there that fighters (excluding monks) are the only "warrior class" that gets additional attacks?

The Fighter fights and he is the best at what he does. People underestimate that extra +1 to hit, which combined with the +1 from specialization immediately bumps the fighter's chance to hit 10% above every other class. Throw in an extra attack in contravention to the one action per round baseline, and the fighter is truly mighty. Those are his class abilities, whereas the other "warriors" have their own abilities in variety.

Every class has special abilities that make them unique. For the fighter, its fighting. At that level, the extra attk insures that the fighter is the shazbot in virtually any mano-o-mano.

And he is.

The other classes have their abiities that will allow them to shine and, often, outpace the fighter in damage and utility but, in the end, when the slug fest comes (and it always does), the fighter is the man.

What is TLGs long term growth/subtainability plan? What as a company do you hope to achieve?

That's easy -- more C&C products. Though, I don't know what the company "hopes to achieve" other than "success."

What can you tell us about the genesis and evolution of Erde/Airdhe? Also did anyone play the characters like St. Luther or were they NPC's?

The characters like St Luther, Aristobulous, Dolgan, ect are all PC's of the Troll Lords game group.

That's cool. It gives the setting a "historical" feel a la Greyhawk with Robilar, Murlynd, and Bigby (for example).

Racial attribute modifiers. There's a facet of these that continues to perplex my gaming group. I found a post on this while seaching the boards, but it didn't really provide much guidance -- so I turn here.

Do racial attribute modifiers increase the actual attribute score or stand separate as a modifier to all die rolls related to that attribute? What was the original intent?

They modify the actual score. Some treat them differently, but the intent was to turn a 16 to a 17 if you happen to get a +1 to that attribute.

It's a question of fluff

A fluff question that intrigued me and I was wondering if you, as Aristobulus himself, can shed some light on it.

In reading the fabulous back story of the Winter Dark wars in the Codex, I remember reading that Aristobulus and Nuluk-Kiz-Din met at the height of the conflict (pg 43 in fact) and it (possibly) hinted that there was some kind of assurances made by Nuluk to Aristobulus that Unklar would fall in the conflict. They did not battle but "many questions were asked and answered". Nuluk was by Unklar's side when the Council of Light came calling in the end, and he survived the conflict.

Care to tip your hand on what was said at the meeting and were assurances exchanged for Nuluk's continued survival in exchange for Unklar's banishment? The paragraph is purposely cryptic I am sure, but my curiosity was peeked when I read this. I always wished the Codex expanded on that meeting.

Thanks-

Jacopo

Mac is rarely with us, being one of those nimble lawyer types with a life. If he gets shanghaied into service again, I'm sure he'll answer. Just, don't expect any regularity... he's not fibrous.

LOL

Post by Mac Golden »

Honestly, I don't recall the specifics of that meeting, although I am sure it happened. I'm going to have Steve come on here and post his recollections, because he probably remembers that meeting better.

Typically, most of Aristobulus' and Nuluk's meetings were testosterone filled chest-puffing bouts where we threatened to take each other out.

Hm? What? Where? Have they been changed in the 4th ed. of the Players' Handbook?

Not that I didn't like them before, but I wonder why they're "bad ass now"...

Illusionist additions

Post by Mac Golden »

Class is the same. More spells. Many more now, equal in # to Wizard.

Also, better explanation of how Illusions work and how they cause damage.
