Good modules for a convention one shot?

Post by anvil242 »

Can anyone suggest some good modules for a convention one shot for C&C? We have a local con coming up soon and I was thinking of running some C&C sessions.

I've run Shadows of a Green Sky several times as a one shot for conventions or local game nights. It is a quickstart module for level 3-5 PCs, so the general C&C rules are in there along with some generic pregens.

The adventure itself can be completed in one or two nights depending on how you run your game and how quickly your players act. It's very fun and everyone I have run it for says it was a good time.

Here's a link to the digital version on the TLG store: https://www.trolllord.com/tlgstore/#!/S ... p/54627091

Shadows of Halfling Hall is good for entry level play. Druid's Lament for a bit higher levels.

Make up you own, think of a simple plot a simple task and go for it.
1) No one will have already played it.
2) You will not forget anything or worry about details.

My one friend ran from half a page of notes, he just went with the flow.
Wow, Another Natural One! You guys are a sink hole for luck. Stay away from my dice.

I've enjoyed running White Plume Mountain as a con event. There's no way to complete the full module in 4 hours, but you could easily streamline things by eliminating some of the less interesting encounters and only having the party try to recover 1 or 2 artifacts during the play session.

The C&C tournament module "Between Wrack and Ruin" is a great con adventure.

S1 Lure of Delusion.

I'm not sure but I think this module was originally run as a convention game.
