Is there the Carrion Crawler in C&C?

Post by mostrojoe »

There is some C&C stat block somewhere for the Carrion Crawler monster? Or I should convert?

Carrion Crawler were not in the SRD so they generally will not be in OGL content as named. I think there is something like it, but it's eluding me right now.

I found it...

So in Castle Zagyg it was named Corpse Creeper

CORPSE CREEPER
No. ENCOUNTERED: 1-4

INT: Average
ALIGNMENT: Neutral TYPE: Aberration TREASURE: 2
XP VALUE: 55+3

But in the M&T you might check out Fleshcrawler (it's actually pretty horrific)

FLESHCRAWLER

Just convert straight across. Someone may have done it in the Monster https://www.trolllord.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=28 section of this forum. I know a Water Weird and a Gas Spore from D&D are in there.

Spoilers ahead for players - don't read this!

Mike mentioned above about the fleshcrawler being horrific!!

Hahahahahahahaha! It's WAY worse and more horrific than most PCs can imagine. You CKs need to use this guy alot.

He eats the inside of other critters and then hides inside ready to explode outward to do huge damage. Hide him inside a seemingly sleeping gnoll in a hallway in the dungeon and then have a crap ton of fun when the PCs approach thinking they have an easy kill.

Enjoy the game!

Flesh Crawlers infesting a group of bloated Zombies... "Zombies are so easy... hey why are only some turning, oh well, just have to kill them, they're slow... exploding zombies with flesh crawlers... great fun.

I forgot all about that part of these pages... the Domesdays always have monsters... like #10 has Su Monster and Displacer Beast I think.

I have the rot grubs and the gas spores (linked to Primordial eye) just finished and used in an adventure... waiting for them to open the door and release the gas spores...

When I learned the carrion crawler (along with a few other creatures) were not Open Content and therefore could not be used as-is from AD&D, I made the fleshcrawler as a substitute.

Glad to know it works well for those who like it.
