Well, I think most of us have the 1st print!
Hmm, I'll have to pull it out and have a look see - since I haven't used it in about 8 or 9 years!

The only serious problem with the first printing, aside form irritating spelling errors and the errata, most of which has now been corrected, with a couple of exceptions, is the layout is pretty "basic".
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I got a copy of the first printing, pretty much mint condition as I very soon afterward got the third printing. The binding is super tight on my copy, as in I couldn't break it in even when I tried to get it to lay flat even a little, it would quickly snap back shut on me, which was annoying. Editing was very bad. Layout wasn't great either. I don't have the book in front of me at the moment, but I don't seem to recall art that wasn't in the third printing, I think that some of the pieces were much larger than they appeared in the third, although I could be wrong about this since it's been years since I've cracked it open.

Never seen the fabled 1st printing of our sacred holy book! Can you attach a picture or two of the interior art?

Finally looked at the art and it does seem interesting ~ darker but not necessarily in a bad way. I still remember the thrill when the book first came out. I had the C&C White Box which was fabulous for what it was, but the get the full blown game was the excellence!
I'd say it's a great collector's item for any Crusader!

The inside covers of my first printing contain my very first house rules for C&C.

My 1st print has Steve's signature in it. I should have gotten Mac's, Davis', and Peter's while I was at it.

Having this book is a must imo.
Aye, owning the wellspring from which all C&C flowed, makes one strong with the power of the old gods verily...

By Crom, it feels good to possess this old tome.
But alas, tis a feeling few o'ers will likely experience.

I still love the old book. Takes me back to buying it at Egyptian Campaign from Stephen and Todd in 2005? That book, M&T, and Crusader 2, I think. Good times.
