Artifact Question from Of Gods & Monsters
Artifact Question from Of Gods & Monsters
The Mace of Judgement artifact under Unklar's listing has a power described as "death ray 1/day". I can't find the death ray power described anywhere, nor can I find a spell by the same name in the PHB. Am I just missing it? Where can I find this potentially uber-powerful power explained? Other than this...LOVE this book. Good job, Mr. Ward!
Re: Artifact Question from Of Gods & Monsters
I would use either Finger of Death or Power Word, Kill as the "death ray" affect. Probably Finger of Death.

Re: Artifact Question from Of Gods & Monsters
The only refrence to "death ray" I could find in any of my digital materiel was found under Eye Of Thorax in Monsters and Treasures of Aihrde.
Page 157 EYE OF THORAX (bottom of last paragraph)
"Once per week, the host can command the eye to cast a finger
of death, however, a failed constitution saving throw against CL 20
results in the eye casting the death ray upon the host instead."
FINGER OF DEATH, Level 7 wizard, 8 druid
CT 1 R 50 ft. D permanent
SV charisma partial SR yes Comp V, S
The caster points at one living creature and utters a death
curse, instantly killing the creature unless it successfully makes a
charisma saving throw. If the creature makes its save, it sustains
3d6 damage +1 point per caster level.
It sounds to me that the "death ray" is what eminates from the caster's finger.

Resistance is futile.

Perfect. I did not see that. Thanks...definitely clarifies things.
Re: Artifact Question from Of Gods & Monsters
Arawan flashes two "death spells" from his eyes in the old DnD days.. 6th lvl mage spell.. killing creatures, no save if their HD is less than 8+3 HD... it starts at lowest HD and works up but a nasty spell...
Wow, Another Natural One! You guys are a sink hole for luck. Stay away from my dice.
