Art Question

Post by Julian Grimm »

I came across this surfing the web and really like the style and want to use it for my games. Anyone know where I could find more or what I could use to draw it. I am also including a map style and wonder how I could also do this. I love the raw early computer game look and actually think my no-talent ass could draw this.

Examples:

Map Example
Lord Skystorm

Grand Knight Commander KoTC, Member C&CS

Donner Party Meats: We're here to serve YOU!

AD&D per se is as dead a system as Latin is a language, while the C&C game has much the same spirit and nearly the same mechanics. --Gary Gygax 8/16/06

*Googles*

8 bit art program.

16 bit art program.

Personally I'd go with the 8 bit style. Not only would it be easier to do, but 8 bit computer games are having a renaissance right now. I've seen; The Escapist and a few other good games being put out by independent developers. I also like the look.

Dang if that art isn't both wonderful and terrible! The map is totally a blast of nostalgia.
