I just thought it humorous that this post was made on the last day of the month.
Really looking forward to this though.
Ha. My bad! I meant the end of June, of course. But I don't really know.

Last I heard was "a few weeks" a few weeks ago.
But that's in Troll Time! It's very different from real time.

Lol! Nah. The edited manuscript has been turned over, I assure you. It's mostly in Peter's hands now. It is likely a major part of the massive workload he has that caused Steve to ban him from the boards for a bit. That's my guess, anyway.

You are priority 1
When it ships (if so Monday hope hope) You guys who pre-order get stuff the same day the distributors do, or sooner in fact

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

We missed Monday's date. The tiles came in over the weekend, so we'll pick up quite quickly. Should be this week me thinks.

Is this more oriented towards small skirmishes with models moving individually or is it for big blocks of units (like Warhammer)?
Yes, as I understand it.

Meaning both small units and up to and including full scale armies at war. This is also supposed to be usable with any RPG/rules set. If that ends up being true... FREAKIN AWESOME!!

Come, my friends,
'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
Of all the western stars, until I die.

Size of armies depends on what sort of unit ratio you use. That is usually determined by how many figs or counters you have on hand. Peter's counters are very VERY nice for this one and the box includes all the counters needed for the scenarios included.
As for usable with different :rulesets: I originally started designing this with a d20 based game in mind. It turned out easier to finish writing it and get it published for C&C simply because with C&C I don't have to worry about getting stat wiped with "Feats" and the straight-jacket of abilities that you have to include in every damned stat block with a 3ed/Pathfinder type game. To my experience that stuff results in a LOT of bloat in the physical product you are producing. Fun games, up till about 8th level and then becomes a burden to run and play.
That said, Unit Blocks are built similar to an ordinary "monster block" so adding feats, hit dice, attack bonuses from 3ed sources and punching them through the formulae included in the rules = a 3ed/pathfinder friendly Unit Block. Equally since C&C is similar in a lot of ways to previous incarnations of Fantasy Role Play that using the unit ratio calculations in Fields of Battle will net you the same results regardless of the type of d20 based game you play from Original D&D on.

By the way...
By the way, thanks to everyone for your patience and everything in the delays and what have you along the way. Some of you have waited about a year? Since you heard of it, some of you who know me well, have known I've been working on it since almost the inception of C&C... What a lot of you don't know is that we played the seminal game of what became fields of battle at Gorilla Con with Peter and Davis what seems like a million years ago, but I'm guessing was march of 2003?
It's been a while!
