...can't argue with that. ;)

Now that Col. Sebastian Moran is available on the Victorious facebook and G+ pages!

I can't wait to hear an update on all of this. I was telling some of my players about Victorious today, and they were pretty enthused about it!
Come, my friends,
'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
Of all the western stars, until I die.

Nice to hear! The facebook page just hit 100 likes, so as promised we'll be releasing the Quick Start rules in a week or so. That should give a very bare-bones view of the game.

Oh, and don't forget that we have a character sheet for DL on the page too. ;)

I have looked at the filled in character sheet and find it interesting. I would think the hunter would be higher in level than 4th. I also note that the character seems more powerful than a C&C 4th level class; not that is a bad thing.

With Moran I took the tact that most "Normal" humans are 0-3rd level and in that context I think 4th isn't unreasonable. But hey, easy to suit to taste. ;)

Hit points are about the only area that he might be higher than a 4th level character in C&C, but conversely his AC would be lower with the lack of magical armor that most 4th lvl fighter types would have so I imagine it evens out!

DMMike,

Moran has abilities that are not in C&C like a +3 bonus to shooting.

Yup, which makes him attack as if he's 7th level with a rifle. Which covers the level gap doesn't it? ;)

DMMike,

I enjoyed the quick start game. I just do not see how characters like Moran can compete with the Super Characters. Moran has good stats and skills but compared to Ironclad of Angle; Moran is week. I do like the idea of having Superpower rules. I think that is a great option. In the description of your product you list a lot going on! I cannot wait for the release of this product. I think it will offer a lot of value for its price. it will have character classes, super power rules, new abilities and a fantasy Victorian backdrop.

Thanks... Truth to tell, IMC Moran has stolen the Hyde formula to give him more of an edge against SuperMankind!

The big danger of Moran is that he's a sniper. With the air rifle, there's no effective way short of Intuition or Telepathy to tell where the given sniper shot comes from. Even if it misses, the Invisibility ranks in the gadget prevent people from telling where the rifle shot comes from. Moran (as noted in the fiction) did go toe to toe with The Dancer, but really his bag is shooting from cover and at distance... the "Hunter" tactic.

Of course, as the full rules will show I encourage fiddling with rules and characters to suit the given Chronicle. Glad you liked the QS and hope you'll give the full rules a try...whenever they come out! ;)

DMMike,

I will be purchasing this product as soon as I can. I do believe that the Kick-starter should start now. Col Moran will need the Hyde Formula based on what I saw in the Quick Start rules.

Totally agree. Hopefully it will be the next one after the current one ends.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I told Jim Wampler (does or is doing some work for Goodman Games) that some of his art would be perfect for this project. Sounds like he's plenty busy with projects already, but he's excited about this one. He even came by the TLG booth (at GenCon) holding up a sign. I think it read, "I want Victorious". A picture of him and Stephen was on Facebook in the last month. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this, and it's nice to finally see another product from Mike Stewart.

Yes, but you never answered my half-orc's question about the beer. ;)

FWIW, We'll be releasing something this Friday for Victorious to commemorate "Talk like a Pirate" day. Keep looking on the facebook page, ye scurvy lot!

Ah yes, the North Texas game. What question did the half orc ask? I'm pretty sure we'll all meet again next year. Stephen is a guest next year. Should be two or three of us at NTRPG next year.

Gag Men Podcast goes Victorious!

Post by DMMike »

Liz and I just recorded an interview on the "Gag Men" podcast on the Victorious Siege Engine RPG! The interview will be out in early October, and the usual Gag Men adventure module for Victorious (Broadmoor Asylum) will be available for download in mid-October. Just in time for Halloween. ;)

Keep an eye on the Gag Men Podcast site for the episodes, to be found at:

Be sure to remind us when the podcast episode drops. I'll forget about this otherwise I'm afraid. And announce it on Save or Die! as well.

I'm impatient too, but I also paid $40 in 2012 for the Codex of Aihrde, so I'm happy it is finally about to go kickstarter even if it does bump Victorious a month.

Jason did me a sketch up of the cover for Victorious. It looks awesome!!! He asked not to put it out yet, so it will be a few more weeks before we showcase it.

But Vicki's coming soon!
