Merry Christmas from the Steampunk Age of SuperMankind!
Emerging from the dubious dives of the Victorious offices, we bring you a holiday treat; a free adventure set in Victorian New York City. The Russian witch Baba Yaga is stalking the streets of Gotham, stealing children from homes, schools, and orphanages. To what end? Can the drawing nigh of the Yule celebration be connected to these kidnappings? What of the appearances of a white haired and bearded man in a flying sled, spotted in pursuit of the evil ogress? Only your noble band of adventurers and adventuresses can find out!

Re: Holiday Adventure: The Nights Before Christmas
I can't believe I didn't reply earlier ... too much family and with them too much roast wild pig, and then toooo much home made Korean food (yes eclectic I know) must have diverted my attention
That said ....NICE ... I love the lightning rod, bag etx as ways to catch the heroes (well ways they were caught) but that said, I hope Tree doesn't read this and use it against us in his upcoming game (nothing to see here move along ...
However, I was thinking, .... yes, with too much food and being sick with a nasty sinus infection gave me time to think twisted thoughts ... beat her at her own game .... tell her she is wrong on the 7 / 7 prophesy ... tell her it means the kids she kidnaps must be the 7th child of the family, not just the random poor souls she has captured thus far, so she needs to turn them loose and start over ... it doesn't have to be true, just confuse her and make her task harder to slow her down until you can figure out a way to beat her (or more likely hold her off until Odin arrives to help ... Of course, you would need someone with a good enough charisma to feed her the line of BS and get her to take the bait ....

Well, it is set for 4th-6th level...so unless Tree is going to up starting levels it'd be a massacre. Even worse than the Minutemen!
Good thinking about the prophecy, though as GM I'd probably require the character giving the story to have some knowledge of magick in order to "sell" the idea properly. You know, just enough data to fake it!

Rgr that, either magic or religious/prophesiac background would be a must. With out that you wouldn't even have the right words to use to start to try and trick her.DMMike wrote:Well, it is set for 4th-6th level...so unless Tree is going to up starting levels it'd be a massacre. Even then there is the inherent danger of bantering magic talk around with someone that powerful / knowledgeable. Then the danger of trying to trick her .... It may work for a bit - a few days if you are lucky - but once she figures it out, boy things are going to go sideways in a hurry!! I'd look at it as a delaying tactic to buy time to work out a good plan to defeat her but keep her from easily finishing her bloody work (and hope more better powerful heroes come to help too)

Re: Holiday Adventure: The Nights Before Christmas
...or if your character is a nice young girl Baba Yaga just might adopt her and on her majority let her leave with magic items! LOL!
That's the fun with Baba Yaga...in the folk tales she was incredibly chaotic and could even serve good on occasion. Just all weird...which is a GM's delight.
