Post subject:  Amazing Adventures movies or books?

Anyone have a couple of movies or books to suggest? I'm wanting to watch or read something pulp-ish and I can't decide what to choose.

Just watched the Goonies. Am pondering either one of the Indiana Jones movies or the Rocketeer. Most of my Robert E Howard books are fantasy, but I might read some of his detective stories. Or Raymond Chandler.

Part of my problem is I'm tired and very indecisive. :(

Rex Stout's Nero Wolfe mysteries are sort of pulpish. You can skip the earlier ones (the first made 4 or 5), but after that he really finds the voice of the characters.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Very pulpy, and the setting (and even the characters) fit in with the AA books. I watched it on Netflix a few months ago.

Don't know if you can still find the '75 film version of Doc Savage (I actually own it). It's pretty campy, but Ron Ely played Doc pretty straight and I think did a great job.

The Rocketeer is a good one. Basically Cliff Secord is a charisma based Gadgeteer with Peavey being his inventor.

Indiana Jones is what the Raider classed was based on. The Mummy movies are a pretty good source.
