I know that Bowbe is a deity. Yet, I've noticed in both Haunted Highlands and Crater of Umeshti that in the introductory narrative, the adventurers are referred to as "bowbes."

A Bowbe is a Bowbe is a Bowbe of course.

Bowbe is Bowbe, but he is also a Bowbe.

Yeah, I think some folks are catching on.

You know... I once got to play a game of C&C with Gary and a bunch of others at a Con up in Milwaukee (Gamefest?).

We had those old-school character sheets where you can draw your coat of arms or your character portrait.

I drew a severed hand with an extended middle finger, and wrote down that my barbarian's deity was Bowbe under the "Worships" line.

Someone suggested that "That may be a little irreverant dont you think?"

Gary thought it was funny, and made sure to autograph my character sheet after my guy died (last man standing).

Good Times!

Yes. I am too.
You are going to have to spell it out in plain language.
