Converting high HD monsters from D&D to C&C

Post by Arduin »

For those that have done a few, is it easier going from 3.X to C&C for a given monster or, AD&D version to C&C?

For instance, the AD&D Beholder or 3.X Beholder. which converts easier?

In my experience, 2nd edition converts the easiest. It's pretty seamless.

Thanks. Yeah, I haven't had any difficulty with 2nd Ed.

I have had no trouble converting any monster to C&C, including those not written with D&D in mind, such as critters from Chill or even Shadowrun.

I always assumed the Prysmal Eye was sort of the Beholder re-skinned for C&C. Although, after taking another look at it, it isn't a dead-on match.

No, it is not supposed to be. A sort of re-image, just as the fleshcrawler is not a carrion walker... although, inspired directly by it.
