Hey Rhuvein, would be glad to have you join us.

I use Roll20 but only for the dice roller and maybe a map or two. Beginning money is exactly what the book says, you roll by class and take whatever luck gives you.

Right, but your starting players are 3rd level - how do handle starting gold at that level?

Thanks.

It is not a very "macro" intensive game. Just roll yer d20s and look at the map occasionally and you should be good.

Start time is variable (to keep potential new players on their toes) and starting gold is determined by the principle: "what I finds, I keeps" (actually, I think it was whatever the book said it was for your class). This game is pretty by the book, except I think we rolled hit dice twice for each level and kept the better roll. We started with 6000 XP? (can't remember) but no extra $ or magic items. This is hard scrabble stuff boyo!

Other new players, if they are as fun as the estimable Rhuvein, are more than welcome

The addition of Wolfgar got us through in the end! . Fun session.

That was a dicey combat with all of those clerics slinging soundbursts and hold persons around. And of course we ran into a bunch of zombies and coffer corpses right after Wolfgar the cleric headed back to the Iron Hills

Now we know that the foul altar is the cause of the curse, and that it can be destroyed physically. But can the adventurers, now laden down with loot, survive the trip back to town unscathed?

Great game guys, lots of close calls and excitement! It was good to have you with us Rhuvein, hope you can make more games in the future.

Now for the aftermath:

XPs have been PMed to each of you.

You will gain more XP (on a 1 for 1 gp rate) if you get the treasure back to town and into a secure location.

The following list is adjusted after Wolfgar took 187 gp, his share of the treasure found on the clerics (he took his share in gold coin), the rest is to be divided among Aethlrand, Marth, Smoke, and Landan (he will give 90% of it to the Church):

dagger +1
magic scroll (unidentified)

1,515 gp
823 ep
704 sp
2,103 cp
tiger eye, worth 25 gp
amethyst, worth 250 gp
common opal, worth 100 gp
2 silver bells, worth 10 gp each
silver pitcher, worth 75 gp
2 silver lamp stands (worth 100 gp each) with each holding an open lamp made of silver, worth 50 gp each
silverware set for 20 people, worth 200 gp
2 tapestries of intricate weave, each worth 150 gp
a three-foot-tall silver-plated statue of a devil, worth 125 gp to the right collector
a complete altar service collection, worth 200 gp to the right collector of unusual religious antiques
silken dress, worth 50 gp

other items:
5 belts
20-foot-square canvas
10 leather flasks
10 empty metal flasks
grappling hook
10 sheets of vellum
iron holy symbol of Onen
6 empty large sacks
a pair of shoes
50 ft. of hemp rope
4 whet stones
20 sling bullets
light mace
a pair of heavy boots
a cloak
small cauldron
bronze lamp
fishing net
3 sets of manacles
two shovels
a satchel holding 10 sets of knucklebone dice
25 torches
20-foot length of chain
mule skull
saddle
13 unholy symbols (daggers)

Your game sounds fun. Saturday is my usual face-to-face night and alternate Sundays are Nate's game, otherwise I'd possibly commit to it.

I am in nwelte’s Sunday game, which I believe is tonight

My PC spends the session convincing the local clergy that the party's vanquishing of the evil threatening the town is easily worth a cure disease for himself and buttercup :D
