Yep. Nice when you can just crush an enemy like that. So now you single class guys are 6th level and you dual class guys might be 5/4, or still 4/4. I'll let both classes level up in 2 or 3 sessions, in the meantime nwelte will be entertaining you guys for the next two weeks.

64bitrobot don't forget to post what you do with your henchmen and your family properties in your first post of the first page of this thread.

Next up you will be travelling to either some lost caverns or a forgotten temple, with some random encounters in the meantime...

We finally made it through a game session without a TPK. I think we are starting to figure out this game!

That was the kind of situation where the players _should_ be able to succesfully create a plan (the monster is being forced into our set-up when we are ready for him). Luckily we were able to pull it off

Tsojcanth and Tharizdun sound like fun. And at the end of this campaign, we should get some sweet sweet blaster rifles (after we get captured by slave lords, that is)

But for now we take a short interlude into the Tomb of Horrors. Can't see that turning into a TPK. ;)

I believe in spreading the pain, I mean love, to all of the gaming groups on these forums.

The Gauntlet has been defeated, the Sentinel has saved the day. So now it's on to Tharizdun and Tsojcanth. Should be entertaining (although I don't know if it will be entertaining for Treebore or us ;) )

I don't know what that is, but I do know I will let someone else be up front! :D

Yeah, we might get there tonight, depending on random encounters, etc... (I am running this old school after all, must have random encounters!) Everyone going to make it?

Plus I need to remember you all did that stupid time change on me, so I have to be ready to game by 6 instead of 7.

BTW, any ideas on something to do for our 4th year anniversary? Or is it 5th? March of 2006, so that would be 5 years, right?

You should give a random magic item to each of us for our 4th anniversary. ;)

Hopefully none of them will be cursed! (Though I haven't been gaming with you guys as long, how long have I been playing with you guys?)

Good anniversay session. And appropriately, it has probably ended with a TPK with the party covered in Gargoyle poop (or rather, converted into Gargoyle poop)

Good times, good times. Long may it continue :D

Yep, good session. Next week will be loads of fun I'm sure . . some serious combat most likely. I'm now sorry I gave up my fly and invisibility potions!!

I don't suspect much problem for you high AC guys, their BaB is relatively low. I may go with the idea of them grappling you guys instead, flying up nice and high, and then dropping you though. Nice way to reduce the effectiveness of your AC. I'll have to decide how evil I want to be next week.

I could also decide they are Margoyles.

I hope nwelte makes it next week. Not to mention for his Sunday game.

Worse case I drink I drink one of those nifty potions I got and destroy the, all with a 22 strength!

Also I thought I borrowed the ring to be invisible going up there? And wouldn't the fly potion still be effective on me?

Maybe I'll just have them swarm you. Margoyles are sounding better and better.

No Margoyles are written up for C&C, guess I'll have to dig up another source, or better yet, create my own version....

But, but . . wait, wait. You already told us they were gargoyles and thus we have a chance!

If they are margoyles, we are probably screwed - as margoyles can only be hit with magical weapons!!

Heh, we might be using lots of luck points and god calls in the next session!!

I've only told you they look like Gargoyles. Margoyles are often mistaken for gargoyles at long range, so you won't really know until they get close... Muhahahhahahaa!

It will take them a couple of rounds to actually get to you, so you can definitely have a good defensive position by then. No matter what they end up being.

Great game and combat session . . very close to big time trouble. Several luckpoints helped me "turn" the combat to a more favorable situation, but we're still engaged with the enemy!

:P

Yeah, it definitely turned out to be as tough as it could be. IF you guys had come in the "expected" way you could have drawn in smaller numbers because they are in general uncaring. But no, you guys attacked the one that unifies and controls them all, the only one who could have brought them all out en masse.

Another thing that got pointed out to me last night, is I definitely need the groups help keeping track of things that are posted. My eyes are not glued to the chat windows, I'm looking at maps, reading and rereading encounter information, looking up rules, spells, etc... So I need you guys to help make sure I take notice of things posted to chat, especially when its posted by a player with their mic OOC.

So if you see something posted, and I am not responding to it in a timely fashion, verbally point it out to me. Or send me a private SKYPE message, so that I will hopefully notice it flashing. Verbal will likely be best, though.

Yeah, playing without a mic is no picnic. The problem is not the mic (I don't think) since it worked fine on the old computer. Rather, there is some setting somewhere in Win 7 or Realtek or the soundcard, or Bill Gates' cellphone, that is controlling it.

I did a little investigating this morning and did find a setting that was low, so I set that to medium. Tested it through an audio recorder and it sounded ok (or, at least as ok as my dull monotone can sound)

So if now it still does not work in skype maybe it is also a skype problem, If it was just a case of needing a new mic I would buy a new one immediately, but it is in these darn software settings so it could be anywhere.

Of course, if it does work, you will be back to listening to my comments in audio, so if it is fixed it is at best a mixed blessing

It was annoying because I was trying to point out a number of things and it just turns into a long game delay.

Spot on, Kurt.

You guys might recall that I had problemos when I first used win7. Realtek and win7 system settngs may be at cross purposes with regard to control and various advanced settings for sound. Check for accidental muting in both programs. Some of win7 is overly complicated, even for longtime windows users. Hope you get it working.

:)

I am sure something new will go wrong soon. I just recently had problems using paypal after a windows update, so now something else is not working and it could have any of a hundred causes. Computers really have made our lives so much simpler :D .

One thing I have noticed is how unhelpful win 7 (and many other programs) are when something goes wrong. I find I am much better off doing an immediate google search of the symptom than looking for help within the program. Maybe that just shows how useful google is rather than how useless the help information within programs is

I feel fully justified in blaming any 1s rolled next session on Windows bugs

My baby puppy is "admitted" at a Veterinarian an hour away (had to go that far to find one competent), fighting for her life against Parvo. Which has killed four of her siblings to date. I don't think that will interfere with my running the game tonight, but if I am not there you'll have an idea as to why. The other remaining two puppies look to be responding well to the new meds. We definitely won't be using the old incompetent twit Veterinarian ever again.
