Help me kick "Rising Knight" up a notch or three

My PCs are finally getting to Malforten after running into this and that and lots of other things along the way. Two are first level, two are second and one is third (the party's thief). One more first-level character will probably join them.

They have collected some good equipment along the way, so the fighting classes and some of the others have fairly good armor classes. They also have a few magical trinkets, etc. So they're well-prepared. A bit too prepared for the adventure as written.

So, we need to kick things up a notch in difficulty. Any suggestions on how to make things a bit more challenging for the group other than just kicking up the number of opponents?
