I know he died early in 2007, but I wanted to post Tom Moldvay here in the Rememberances section. His adventures for basic and expert D&D were some of my favorites.

Good idea. I know of a lot of Tom's work, but really haven't read that much of it. Frank Mentzer has spoken highly of Tom, so I've been interested in reading/re-reading the stuff that I have.

I honestly did not know he had passed, so I am thankful for the thread.

My own B/X era was the Moldvay/Cook, and B4 "The Lost City" ranked with me right alongside B2 and X1 as the adventures that hooked my imagination as an awkward pre-teen.

X1 The Isle of Dread is unbelievably fun as well. Tom was one hell of a designer.

I'm currently running Castle Amber with my Greyhawk campaign, and can nothing but agree.

Don't have his whole history in front of me, but he co-wrote some Star Frontiers mod's. I'll have to look to see which ones. Part of the Volturnus series I believe. Had a good time with those. Tipped my hat to him on some other forum when he died, but my memory's foggy as to all of his accomplishments. Wait a minute, seems like he was a contributor, or an editor on the basic and/or expert boxed sets from the early 80's.
