Re: Dreadpunk.com Interview About the Ghastly Affair RPG
Yeah, good job! I too felt that Ravenloft just didn't 'get it.'
Regarding the later morality of the Victorian era, some of that was imposed by Queen Victoria. Her uncles George III and George IV were notorious rakes (the former with bouts of madness) and after George IV's death there was real talk of just getting rid of the monarchy altogether in 1837. So, VR decided to save the throne (and her family's hold on it) by becoming a paragon of propriety.
Since we still have a British monarchy, and its still the Saxe-Coburgian line, I guess it worked!

What is this "Saxe-Coburg" of which you write? I daresay you may be suggesting that the most English house of "Windsor" is in fact German!DMMike wrote:Yeah, good job! I too felt that Ravenloft just didn't 'get it.'

I run into more trouble with students when I try to explain why the British in the 18th century would rather have a German Protestant ruling Britain than a British Catholic!
