Don't know much about Warhammer Quest other that it's was supposedly awesome. YMMV. No direct experience with the game. GW dropped and focused on it's Warhammer Fantasy Battle game version 1 thru 8. Not sure why, but who knows what was going on. I figured it would appear again, like they did with Talisman and Space Hulk (and Dread Fleet - which I guess was an update to Man O' War). I really liked when they had the specialist game stuff, but alas all that is gone now. And Warhammer Quest never appeared again. And now the "Olde World" is dead too (along with Warhammer Fantasy Battle)... it lives on only through Fantasy Flight Games.
Can I complain - sure, but then again, I don't hear a lot of demands for Gorkamorka and Oi Dats Mi Leg reprints from GW either.
As far as Warhammer Fantasy RP?
Well I agree with both Ancalagon and Omote, that it was DOA. The 1st and 2nd Edition was pretty compatiable. I have several of the books and would certainly run or play in it. 3rd edition, I didn't even bother with. The system wasn't broken (IMHO) so why radically change it. I guess some folks really liked it, but to me it made no sense doing what they did.
That being said, even with the problems of WHFRP 3rd Edition, FFG still allows PDFs and some print on demand of the books (WHFRP Companion) and they're keeping the old world alive. Plus they've got a ton of great games so no good will lost here. Considering they found a work around with GW miniatures and the 40K version of Talisman with the Character Busts, that was pretty cool.
