The Woes of Summer Gaming...

Post by serleran »

Finally got the party to a place where things get interesting, with several subplots merging and revelations being had, leading to intraparty conflict... and what happens? Summer. Won't be gaming for well over a month, most likely, and by then all the build-up will be forgotten and things won't be nearly as climatic and fun. Alas and oh well. I know what will brings thing back to life -- I'll just kill off half the party.

Well...they just have their priorities messed up.

sure, hangin around the pool oggling the bikinis and drinkin beer sounds fine, but we all know that the important things in life are crushing your enemies and hearing the lamentations of their women....

Killing off half the party because gaming takes a back seat to summer activities is rough. I'd hate to be a player in a campaign like that!

Though, summer has slowed gaming here too. It's part of the natural ebb and flow of gaming I think.

Well, it wouldn't happen until the game picks up, and then, only to level the field. No one is going to remember, in three months, why they didn't like each other and why they wanted to do this and that... so, a reboot, in essence, would get the game back on track. When the game is complicated, a lull either brings it to a stop on its own or it makes people more interested in seeing it revisited... I know my players -- it will bring it to an end. It is not vindictive. For that, I'd just quit playing.

There is always a summer slowdown. Especially with Con Season in full swing.

Bro, I'm right there with ya. Everybody's going on vacation (we did twice already this summer) and so many activities (especially here in sunny-ass Florida), gaming unfortunately gets put on the back burner. Summer's always been bad for my group, but at least it's only a few weeks here or there. It should be settling down soon and will stay that way until about Thanksgiving time.
