Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

48 pages for $19.95? And to boot, the books subject has been covered ad nauseum.

Its being done as a hard cover and yes, the contents have been done ad nauseum, but I think their approach is not only novel, but will be helpful.

At 48 pages it should have been released saddle-stitched instead of hardcover. Saddle-stitched softcover would have cut the price by about half.

Right. 48 pages and hardback? That sounds silly. I'm with Trav.

I've seen positive comments about the art (how's that for hearsay )
One of my players liked this; I think it appeared in some form in Fight On or Knockspell or another zine.

Agree. I'd like to see some samples, and yeah - cut the price in half and they might get a lot more sales.!

I've heard some really good things about it though.
But I didn't realize it was a hardback until now. That does seem a bit excessive in terms of treatment. At that length, it should have been perfect bound.
Now, if the books pages are color and have a really classy presentation, then maybe. I can't say for sure until I see the contents for myself.

I'm a fool for this type of stuff, so I'll probably pick it up. Agreed on the hardback thing, though.

The only thing that will probably be interesting is seeing the artwork!

This is correct. A text-only version appeared in one of the two magazines (I take both, and can't remember in which it appears). Beyond the art, the book adds random tables to each of the alphabetical entries. Apparently some are quite extensive (8000 entries on altars, I think), whereas others are more simplistic (d6 results).
I am a big fan of random charts, so I will probably investigate this at some point. The art will be a nice extra for me.

Yeppers, +1 for the random chart goodness. I actually scour old Dragons from time to time looking for old random charts on various things. I find some good ones now and then.
