With the normal packages that TLG ships in, you'd better let your local carrier know that "folding to fit the mailbox" is NOT an option. I don't know how it would affect TLG's shipping costs, etc., but boxes would be much better. Studio 2(publisher for Savage Worlds, Shadowrun, Battletech, and a great many others) uses UPS, but the orders can start out at $8.00 shipping. That said, damages are lessened, or non-existent because of the box and foam peanuts. Not a jab, just a suggestion. I have had the odd crusader, or module get more than just a little dog-eared because of the current shipping methods/USPS mailbox fitting methods.

Just thought I'd add that my copies arrived today, courtesy of the U.S. Postal Service, undamaged, in a timely manner.

No fun to be had there, I know. Just thought I'd say.

Figured that I'd add that I just received my order this morning. Amazed that I got them so quickly (ordered them Tuesday afternoon). Not so amazed at the US Postal Service, however.

Would a "do not fold" stamp or sticker work?

Or does that change the parcel class and raise the shipping cost?

My "idea" would be about a week after Gen Con, so about August 23rd.

I'm hoping they ship out sooner then that. With the post made by Steve about of Gods & MOnsters shipping "sooner rather than later" if you get your pre-orde rin early I was hoping the PHB's would be sooner.

IT may well be the case, I just prefer to set my expectations taking likely issues into account. Printer screw ups, the mad rush for Gen Con, Gen Con itself, and then getting back from Gen Con, recovering and unpacking, makes me think August 23rd is much more likely than before it.

So if it happens before then, we can all be pleasantly surprised.

Why does Snoop Dogg have an umbrella?

Fo' drizzle.

Uhm - must get back on topic... Man, those softcovers are nice - portable and, like a phone book during a police interrogation, they don't leave a mark on bad players.

Anyone know if there are any of these left at all?

Hope I didn't miss out on them completely

They were there this afternoon. If half were gone today (as Seskis mentioned above), then I doubt they will survive through Saturday.

Not going to help to call when the Trolls, for the most part, are at GenCon. Maybe they left some at the HQ, though. So, always worth a shot.

If you try and call the Troll Lord business phone, you might catch Steve, but I kinda doubt it. The movers and shakers are at GenCon and wont be back till Tuesday. Getting Steve to answer the phone when he's dealing with thousands of people at a convention is problematic.

They are selling a special 'Gen Con' edition PHB which I heard is softcover and the Gods & Monsters in softcover... It sounds like these books didn't make a hardcover appearance. If so, that should mean they'll have some on hand when they get back.

Just a few days...

I am very happy with this book. The color plates throughout just plain kick ass. Love it.

So to clarify...

There is currently some of the Troll Con/Gen Con softcovers available... but they will be released soon enough as hardcovers?

I would love to get all of the Trolls to autograph one of my copies of the special edition PHB. That would rock. Now I just have to figure out how to get everybody to GaryCon to do it. Or else figure out how to get my wife to kick me out of the house TrollCon weekend.

I was able to get Davis and Steve to autograph my GenCon "special" PHB, so I was pretty happy about that.

I got Steve's, but was too much of a dufus to ask Davis when I saw him. By Saturday, my brain was fried. I don't even remember if I had my PHB with me. "This is your brain on GenCon."
