Post Failed my dexterity check but made my con save
Well, I just got back from camping...almost in one piece.

Result: I severly sprained both ankles and fractured my right heel on the landing...then had to walk 1.5 miles down the bluff to the other end of the lake to get back to my car.

Moral of the story...

Gravity is a harsh mistress (the Tick).

Yeah, I'm never doing anything that dumb again. People get stuck in the crawl hole with their rear ends sticking out...I didn't want that to happen to me so I jumped across the gap, knowing I could easily clear it since I've always been a good distance jumper. Unforunately, I forgot how hard rocks can be. Next time, humility comes before pride.

Well, I learned a whole new definition of the word pain...but on the good side, at least now my kids will have a story to tell the grandkids someday.

"Yeah, this is where grandpa jumped 300' off the bluff and broke his legs into 50 pieces, then he had to walk up hill both ways in 5 feet of snow to get back to the car while being chased by a grizzly bear..."

You'd have to ask my wife. That's what she called it. Something to do with underestimating the risk then downplaying the damage.

Macho? What would be even more macho is once you hurt your self, get up, dust yourself off and then punish the rocks for hurting you by punching them, hard, and knocking everything down the cliffside.

I can see the macho part. You want to appear all cool and manly in front of "the wimmun-folk", so you do something risky. It's a time-honored tradition of the male species.

I had a similar experience on my first outing with my girlfriend. We both enjoy hiking, so we drove out to this nice little place with a waterfall and some trails. We were following a rocky brook and she crossed over on some rocks, taking it very slowly and cautiously. I, being the hairy-chested Stud McStudly that I am, proceeded to jump from rock to rock trying to achieve the patented "Legolas-Light-On-His-Feet" look.

You guessed it.

Down into the water I went, getting completely soaked and turning my shins into hamburger. The fun part was limping back to the car all wet and bleeding. My girlfriend, gods bless her, managed to keep a completely straight face the whole time - until we reached the car. =)

Good times.

Hey, if you can walk (or limp ) away from it, you did fine, and like you said just think of the stories that can be handed down.

Can't really do either of those now...but I can crawl and fumble along on crutches (I'm not very good at it).

However, out of my newly-found understanding of the plight of handicapped people comes inspiration...I am going to design a dungeon with ramps instead of stairs.
(Of course, they'll be trapped, but that's just my nature as a killer CK.)

Lol...sorry about the injuries, but the pic is classic!

Guess this means Killer Troll Cave will be here sooner, since you're more or less immobile now?

Is that because you can't walk a plate to the kitchen (or trash) with crutches? Oh, you meant that figuratively. Right...
