How many players do you like to have in your gaming group?
What the perfect number of people for thou?

I'd say 4 but more like 3-5.

I've had as little as 2 and as many as 8. My ballpark is 5-6. That's a good number.

I've begun to enjoy GMing 2 players.

Five consistent players is my preference. My last face-to-face group (damn you, Covid!) had eight players but 2-3 weren't consistent with attendance.

Maximum 6 is where I feel the most comfortable.

AD&D per se is as dead a system as Latin is a language, while the C&C game has much the same spirit and nearly the same mechanics. --Gary Gygax 8/16/06

1-5, maybe 6 if there's excellent chemistry between them. Ideally 3-4 for a proper game, but I have a big fondness for 1-2 player groups and the sense of 'coziness' that brings.

It used to be 5, and then 4, and now its just 2.

8-12 players, so I don't have the pressure to talk. I prefer to listen to people in voice chat anyway.
Re: How many players do you like to have in your gaming group?
I think 3-4 is good, but usually some of them are running multiple characters since I think optimal party size is 6-8. In the pandemic, it's usually been 2 players, running 3 PCs each. But that's much easier to do in games like OSE, C&C, or S&W, since you don't have all the skills, feats, etc.
Once I tried to run a game with like 15 people and it was not fun. Just too many separate conversations and side comments going on.

I like 5 - 6 players. Our Monday night group seems to work best with that number.

It depends on the game. If I'm running C&C, I would prefer 5-6 players. If I'm running Dungeon World, 3-4 player is ideal.

We are currently running with 4 (GM+3) but the optimum is 5. Enough to fit around the table, enough to split into two groups if need be but not too many to make giving screen-time hard or battling over OOC conversations.
