Crowfall (in development)

Post by francisbaud »

Crowfall will soon enter the crowded market of MMORPGs, but there are a few features that differentiate it from the rest. First it's developed by an indie studio of MMO veterans comprising J Todd Coleman (Shadowbane, Wizard101, Pirate101) and Gordon Walton (Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies, SW:TOR). They've got the knowledge to keep the ship going in the right direction.

Secondly, the different kind of worlds: some are PvP-focused, others are PvE, sometimes it lasts for weeks, or is permanent and managed by the player themselves. So there's always a world that would fit with one gameplay preferences.

Thirdly, the strategy elements in the campaigns: territory conquest, caravans, forts, wall destruction, politics, etc. The game really is a mix between a RTS game and a MMORPG.

Beta was released in August and anyone can participate to it.

Crowfall is still in Closed Beta and the devs have pushed a lot of improvements : 1) passive training got replaced with active(ish) training, basically an item-based system where players have to craft disciplines and belts, 2) attributes, disciplines and domains were improved (ways to customize a character), 3) mounts, refineries and caravans are in the game, 4) performances enhancements thanks to a cooperation with Unity engineers.
