Re: Forums Link on Main Page
The validation email may have been me. I sent one out to a new sign up that had not validated after 24 hrs thinking they missed it and it would only go to one account. There have been an even dozen fake account attempts and several spam issues which were dealt with as soon as I noted them. IT has been notified and hopefully the hole can get plugged.

I'm a fan of the stopfourmspam dot com API on another forum I even embed a simple lookup in the posting code so that at any point if the poster is on their naughty list they can't post at all. Works pretty well.

Re: Forums Link on Main Page
The more I think about this, the more I wonder why this place couldn't just stay open. If the number of posters drops to the point where I'm here talking to myself then eventually I might move elsewhere, but in the meantime why potentially lose posters just because the "good stuff" is in another place? Just put a general sticky disclaimer that the Trolls don't visit here anymore and that official stuff needs to be sent to whomever and let this place continue.Kayolan wrote:I'm going to miss this place![]()
I understand why it's being done but I wonder if it's going to be a positive move. I hope this doesn't detract from what we've already established here and that we don't see a drop in posters.

I don't know about anyone else, but I find it much more intuitive to enter https://trolllord.com/forums to access TLG's forums.
I mean, for example, many (if not most) other companies hosting forums have them as a child site.
Eventually, I might get used to it. But, as is, I don't even bookmark the forums because they're just so easily navigated.

You run a heck of a forum, if it just gets down to a few dozen diehards maybe you can run a C&C one...finarvyn wrote:

Re: Forums Link on Main Page
As a further thought, I hope this place stays open even if there are other forums open, too. I check this place pretty much once per day and almost every day there are posts from someone in several of the sub-forum sections so there is a slow and continual trickle of chatter and discussion about C&C to be found here. While there may be discussion in other places, this place continues to see action and for that reason I hope that it isn't shut down.
Now, if we reach a point where we go days or weeks with no action that would suggest a different plan but at this time it's still an active enough place to go to discuss C&C.

Marv...
Just a silly question: why no link to Amazing Adventures in your signature? Character limit?

Re: Forums Link on Main Page
Good question.
(1) Oversight. Didn't think of it.
(2) My links typically go to my pages, and AA isn't one of my games or boards.
It should be in there, so I'll try to fix it.

EDIT: Strange. Character limit error but it seemed to update it anyway. That probably means that something at the end of my signature got chopped.

Just an update: The forums at the KotC site have been expanded per various requests. Some forums have been grouped as sub-forums.
