Dwarves!!!!

Post by Troll Root »

Steve has this love affair with dwarves. Dwarves get on my nerves! They're everywhere in Aihrde (it's really Erde!!) You find them in every nook and cranny, and they are supposedly these great architects of all that is, was and will be.....

Sounds like some load of crap to me!! I tire of the superiority, or the so perceived status of these bandy-legged Geico upstarts!!!

Hey, you can't go without appropriate themed hats for Steve's dwarf games.

Dwarfs need more love in gaming, as do gnomes. I am rather tired of the cliché 'they're unapproachable.' I think my next C&C game will have Rastafarian dwarfs.

Speaking of which, where the hell has Danger Dwarf been? I hope he's not stuck in a barrel floating down a river or something.

OMG THAT HAT! I Love it! I would so buy that 5 years ago (before I had the money pit known as a toddler).

Shadowrun, many years ago:

Dwarf gator shaman. Complete with bad Cajun accent. (Not me, but one of my players.)

Not quite as cool as a Rastafarian dwarf, but I thought it was a hoot.

Best.
link.
ever!

Feel the dwarf love!

Stupid question: there was Elfquest... ever a Dwarfquest? An all-dwarf game might be sweet! (they'd need some variations built into character creation, but that might be fun to design...)

In order of coolness:

1. Dwarves
2. Humans
3. Halflings
4. Gnomes
5. Half-Elves
6. Half-Orcs
7. Elves

I hate Elves.

I don't understand it either. I love elves!

Especially with a creamy Alfredo sauce and garlic butter.

I always preferred mine with a mild béarnaise sauce made with various woodland herbs...

I don't hate elves. Maybe the people I'm gaming with don't role play them properly. Lol

Never quite got the Scottish dwarf thing (apart from redcaps, naturally). Surely they come from Yorkshire.

My take on Dwarves is influenced by the greedy Neiberlungen from Wagner's Ring Cycle. Consequentially I've always presented them with German-sounding accents, and as extremely unlikable in general. I personally never understood the Scottish thing.

It's not like the Elves of my Campaigns - soulless, drug-addled, selfish, fickle, and utterly amoral hedonists who will go to war over fashion in clothing - are any more sympathetic.

For me at least, the Scottish dwarf accent started with Warcraft two... "I luv bombs... I luv blowin' things up!"
