Re: I now remember why I ran screaming from 3.x Land

I ventured out to 3.x land to see what was up. I ran into the following post which gave a horrifying reminder of why I left a couple rule sets behind and sought out C&C: One of my players is a Druid Technologist and we're wondering how the Steamsuit from the Paragon Path would interact with Wil...

Re: Standard Array?

The CKG has some alt methods of rolling but I cant recall whether it has an array or not. Either way, the advice already given in this thread should do the trick. Like Kim said above, there is not a huge diff between average scores and exceptional scores in C&C.

Welcome back. I see an account with the name blood axe associated with someone named Jack and this Starslayer seems to be associated with someone named Chad. Im not sure that the blood axe account is your old one or I wouldve reactivated it for you.

Sir Ironside, why don't you like Mongoose? If you dont want to talk about it, no worries. Im curious because Ive had good experiences with the company and their products, not that I have extensively dealt with either.

I dont think Mongoose is the licensee for RQ anymore, but Im not sure.

Re: A a couple of questions

The new Codex of Aihrde is coming out soonish, but you can buy the After Winter's Dark folio and get some nice full color maps now if you are wanting to get something right now. The Monsters and Treasures of Aihrde is another option with a lot of new creatures that are specific to the setting. The n...

Re: Too Many D&Ds

Having bought a couple of copies of the S&W White Box set from BHP when they were available and then recently printed and saddle stapled the three delving deeper booklets, I can say my personal pref is for the S&W White Box. However, I was pretty chuffed about the DD interpretation of the Th...

Re: Too Many D&Ds

Agree that the market is flooded with D&D-type games. C&C has always scratched an itch I had for a 1st ed game without some of the more fiddly aspects that I personally felt werent necessary (not problematic, per se). I was happy to have positive AC values and a unified quick skill system/sa...

If someone cant make it to a C&C game Im running I think I might give everyone that shows up a one-time second wind use that would heal them 50 percent of their max HP.

Re: Roll 20 Virtual Table Top

Does anyone use this to play C&C? I do and I really think these guys have hit a home run. It's really amazing. I get my face-to-face fix in Steve's game every week, but I run my game online and we all love it. I talked with one of the creators about getting C&C listed as one of the default ...

Also, please check out roll20.net. Its a free online tabletop and it's been the only way Ive been able to put a game together at all lately. Good stuff, gamer seeking game forums are also on the site. Dont know how prevalent C&C is there, but it wouldnt hurt to ask. Good luck!

Been to a few myself. My primary advice would be to take a good amount of cash with you and use a money clip/keep it in your front pocket. Man I love the white box! I have given serious consideration to adding the first or second iteration of the D&D NEXT playtest beta skill system since it's dead simple to tack on and would not affect much of the other rules at all. Still use SIEGE for saves and all that, but that skill system beg...

Re: Games you like to read but hated playing

Man, when I first played Twilight 2000 I totally hated it. Im a huge fan of the genre and military style campaigns but it was fiddly and the rules felt heavy and in the way of fun. Fast forward a few years and my buddy Doug ran us thru a 2nd edition Twilight 2000 game. I was totally hooked. It rocke...

Re: Starting level for a new campaign

Im not generally a fan of level 1 play for C&C games. I prefer to start off at level 3 or 4 and have the players worry a little bit less about a lucky sword blow ending their career in one unfun thud. YMMV, and I used to be a die-hard advocate of starting at base level for any and all RPGs I ran...

Vaping is supposed to be much safer and has no offensive odor. As a former smoker, I completely sympathize with the gravity of your decision to quit. Also, as an ADHD sufferer, nicotine was a very easy way to self-medicate and give me small bursts of concentration. It was really tough to quit, and d...
