Re: Star Wars d6

There is no problem using d6 star wars in different eras, especially since the system is designed to be used in multiple genres. The hard part comes when you try using naboo fighters when there are no official stats for them. However, there are enough ships available in the star wars universe so you...

Re: Star Wars d6

traveller is correct about the force being absent from d6 space. However, the system is the same (by which I mean it uses d6). Thought it does not have the force it does have metaphysics which is similar. However, you can dump the metaphysic section of d6 space, replace it with chapter 9 of the 2nd ...

Re: Star Wars d6

After reading your purchase list... I am jealous. I only had the core rule book. Good buy. I didn't know they made a Shadows of the empire source book. That's awesome! As far as House rules go, I don't think it is worth it. The only thing worth house ruling (if that is what you want to call it) is h...

Re: Star Wars d6

I cut my teeth on d6 star wars. It is am amazing game. However, $150 for a free game is a bit much. However, having said that, the free stuff D6 fantasy, adventure and space aren't "star wars." For anyone interested in the free stuff go to drive thru rpg and search D6. you can download the PDF's for...

Re: Which Other Game do you Like to most?

Not that I am a fan of resurrecting old topics ;) however, I just found out that West End Games D6 system went OGL. You can download all the core D6 material for free on Drive Thru RPG and I heard it is also available via Lulu.com The core books include D6 Fantasy, D6 Adventure (modern), and D6 Spac...

Re: Expert Work Armor .....Poor Investment?

You could always drop the cost value of the armor and have the PC's hunt it down and take it from a death knight or something. Then price wouldn't matter.

Make them hunt it down as opposed to buying it.

Re: Low-magic campaigns

d&d 4e player here, and despite the game i play, i prefer low magic settings. this spawns from the time i read the john carter novels. yes, john carter had "special powers" because he was on a planet with a gravity lower than earth's, but when it came to sword play john carter was awesome cause he h...

Re: “Classical” literary characters

I would go with Beowulf. 100% pure unabashed fighter. if i HAD to pick a secondary class it would be barbarian or knight. his primes would be str, con (because you cant stop the wulf) and cha (or wis depending on how you interpret the epic poem). When it comes to Beowulf you just have to ask yourse...

knight weapon training

the 4th printing of c&c, inside the phb/m&t flip book under the knight class refers to an ability called weapon training. there is no description of this power. is it a misprint or erratum ability?

Knight weapon training?

I looked thru the errata but either missed or didnt find clarification of the knights ability on page 29 of the 4th print double phb/m&t. The ability is listed as weapon training but nowhere is weapon training explained in the knights write up. Is this supposed to be a reference to his proficencies?

next question. does the fighter's combat dominance come into play often? it seems after a certain point in your campaign the ck would stop throwing 1HD baddies at the party

Re: Attribute increases

I got my books today and have spent a long time looking them over. The CKG answered many of my attribute questions as i could see three additional attribute distribution patterns. The monster & treasure book included magic items that specifically increased attribute scores, and i realized that stand...

Re: Attribute increases

Iron side has a point. Being an avid 4e player, i can understand what you mean. The DMG for that game is pretty clear that you want your players to be able to overcome your encounters. In the supplement material they talk about running away, but for the most part, failure really isnt an option. My n...

Re: Attribute increases

So you only really need to check when an element of failure could result in, shall we say, disaster? That is a bit different than I am used to. wow, things sure are different on this side of the fence. I look forward to trying this game out! I haven't played an old school game since I was 10? Sadly ...

Re: Which Other Game do you Like to most?

Open Versatile Anime role playing game by Wise Turtle Publishing. It is a game with no statistics. Roll 2d6 + xd6 (x= rank in skill) once you do that you separate all your dice by their number (all 6's, all 5's, all 4's and on down the line). Once they are separated quickly add up which pool has the...

Re: Attribute increases

Thanks for the replies. Here is my question. With stat increases being rare, regardless of method, and with the 12/18 rule, doesnt this result on lots of pc failure? I can see at higher levels, Say 8, when the pc has a large modifier they can add to their dice rolls that the pc can succeed, but dont...

Re: Which Other Game do you Like to most?

Some of my favs are (in no particular order) 1. d&d 4e- i know it has flaws but this game has done a good job balancing numbers among same level characters npc and pc alike. 2. Star wars d6 anyone who has played this game by west end games knows they captured the spirit of star wars the best. Saga e...

Attribute increases

Good day all, I am new to c&c and unless i am mistaken, i noticed there is no way to improve your attributes as you level. Mainstream d20 indicates one or two stat increases every forth level. I was thinking of using the pendragon experience check method. This method allows for possible stat increas...
