Re: favorite melee weapon

That picture of Bored-Flak the wizard from Fineous Fingers, he was using a "wand of fireballs" Bored-Flak also used a tommy gun as a wand of automatic missles. Love me some FF.

Re: How would you handle this dual wielding orge?

Because overbear is a kind of attack is exactly why i wouldnt use it as such. I forgot one part, The ogre does a (siege) trip attack and a normal attack.( with dual wielding penalties) Because of the wording of the ogres specialization in the trip. I weould give the ogre +6 prime for the trip. Also ...

Re: Is the Fighter Lacking?

Dont remember where i read this but it made sense. Apparently Gygax based the classes initialy off military units. Fighter = Infantry Mage = Artillary Cleric = Medic Thief = scouts Military men will tell you Arty and inf are not balanced and they can not be balanced. Your comparing two things are no...

I would treat the club attack as a trip attack (much like a disarm attack)
Other wise dual weilding ogre.

Re: Google Hangout

On the right side of the stream, there is a button labled "Start a hang out"

That creates the video chat session.

It is basicly a face book. The build in video chat is why it has been embraced by the gaming community.

Re: Cover and logo for 5th printing phb?

The new logo looks cool, the brown color makes it h ide too much. So logo ok but use a color that stands out better. A few points i picked out of others comments i feel need a comment or two... Soft core porn... The art is at best cheesecake. There is nothing inherantly sexual about any of the art. ...

Re: Cover and logo for 5th printing phb?

About the scantily clad women pics. Does your buddies wife mind it ? or do you mind it because she is there? Four women play at my table. None of them have ever complained about the art. Two of them have said they love the art. One finds her own cheesecake art to represent her character. All four li...

Re: Cover and logo for 5th printing phb?

Cover art needs evoke mystery and adventure. It doesnt need to be an action shot. It should have multiple figures.
I am a big fan of Peter's art.
Dont be cartoony or manga inspired.

The original cover for the AD&D PHB is/was the single most inspiring piece of cover art i have ever seen.

Re: C&C Character Sheets with Class Abilities Listed?

I made some class specific sheets. They list each classes skills and abilities on the sheet. Gonna get them all posted as google docs. Will have links shortly. I made these with the idea of demos and conventions. Save the newbies some time and my books some wear. I did not post explainations of the ...

Re: Healing Question

There needs to be a penalty for being incapatated. One round is not alot but it does effect the battle.
I do it BtB heal to zero then able to heal to full. With the exception of the "Heal" spell. its major mojo and i play it at face value.

Re: Combat Rules Questions from the CKG

According to the way init is supposed to work. You first announce your intentions for the round then roll for init and take turns in order. Alot of people take the short cut of roll and go in order announcing as you take your turn. This gives advantage to slow inits of being able to observe others a...

Case bound means THICK. These screens are made of board.

Just ordered mine, cant wait to get it.

For years i wouldnt use a GM screen because it was hard to see over. Over the last 5 years or so i used one (grudgingly). I will happily retire my CK screen for these landscapes!

I am in the minority then. I thought the movie was aweful. That genre bending layer upon layer of fantasy was too over the top for me. For contests and games of skill i use opposed siege checks. (with dice of varring sides) Both roll, highest score wins.
