Re: Been thinking about Cantrips...

I allow all four casting classes unlimited cantrips a day. with the caveot of you can not abuse it. ( like casting create water for hours to drown out something etc.. in 3 years of play with my current group i have never had to tell a caster they were abusing cantrips.

High dex bonus question

At dex of 23 there is an ability gained "dodge and take half movement"
How does this work? there is no descriptive text for it all.

I am not sure how i want to rule this. Hoping other CK's advise can help me decide what to do.

Re: Codex Celtarum Bibiography?

The book is so many factors of awesomeness.
I wish there was a color pdf of the map of faerie. the map in the book is a tad dark and small.

If you just started reading i warn you the magic items are ungodly powerful.

Having played quite a bit on G+ now i can add the following thoughts. Seeing people is a HUGE bonus. I am getting to know about 10 or so regular gamers. Facial expressions add more then you might think to a game. Maps... use any program you want to make a map or graphic...there is a button in the ha...

I have to call foul! DL modules were craptacular railroading pos's.
Dont get me wrong the books were ok reading and the DL setting is kinda cool. ... but adventures that allow for no diviation.. heck no death dont deserve to be mentioned with those other classics.

Re: Some thoughts on C&C's version of 'Wish'...

I liked the level limits myself. Gave humans an edge. The newer games with unlimited advancement make it hard to believe humans could dominate a world much less not get wiped out by uber high level nigh immortal elves.

Re: Some thoughts on C&C's version of 'Wish'...

In AD&D there were level limits for nonhuman casters.. the 3 year cost was ok because only humans could get high enough level to cast it.
Little nuances like that are lost when you drop level limits.

Re: No More "Normal" Magic Items

You did say hire a mage to to make "many" low powered items. I was just pointing out from the M&T magic item rules. No one is ever going to be making many of any magic item. If your housruling a bunch of mages sitting around cranking out plus one swords more power to you. By the book that cant happen.

Re: No More "Normal" Magic Items

No need for that. How do you have a chance to lose Con when creating a +1 sword? I think you need to revisit the section in M&T on creating magic items... The parts about divesting part of yourself? I guess you can consider it a bit of creative thinking. The Permanace spell has a chance of losing a ...

Re: Use of Deities

AD&D has very specific set powers each dieity can use based on its ranking... Demigod, lesser, intermediate, greater. Then each dieity has powers and abilities laid out in the DDG book and finaly they also have class levels. Those gods versus a death machine is generaly dieity destruction derby. I did...

Jim ward mentioned letting his group play any god they wanted and then pitting them against 2 death machines from Gamma World. I tried this a few years back. Was pretty cool.
