Re: Epic6 & Gritty6 (2 blog reposts)
As new 1st level adventurer having never fought for your life a goblin is a fierce foe. While at tenth level... a skilled combatant is going to churn through a pack of goblins. If your concerned that a lone goblin cant kill a 10th level fighter.. well they shouldnt. unless the goblin can catch the f...

Re: Epic6 & Gritty6 (2 blog reposts)
I like the concept of e6 alot more then actual use of it. I understand wanting to keep the charcacters more mortal but at the same time your limiting your game alot. Since C&C handles falls differently then any other D&D/ism/clone etc... I dont see falling as a problem. A 50' fall is deadly to any l...

Re: Perception Rolls redux
I liked the choose int or wis way. but i have never really liked any method of perception check.
I see perception checks as the lazy mans 'did i miss anything important' roll.
Players seem to use it instead of asking questions about the environment.

The best rules advice i can give. Make up a fair rule. use it for players and monsters (or have a good reason). If a rule differs for npcs explain it to the players and why.

Re: Rules Questions...
Forgot to mention. If you withdraw from an oppent i give the oppent a free swing. That tends to discourage the players from trying to end run. Also if they somehow do manage to run around an unengaged foe...the foe turns to meet them as they advance for free. If it aint from surprise you just dont g...

It means i expect them to carry minimal gear.
once in a while I will look at their sheets and if they are over loaded they have to figure out how to lose some gear.

I just flat out dont allow people to break away and run behind. Now if you have an ally keeping them busy, then by all means get behind them. Use common sense turns are asymetrical which causes issues like this. Just think could it happen in real life? Ever see a fencer sprint around his oppent and ...

Re: Alignments
Koralas succintly stated my point of law v chaos and good v evil. They should be two separate measures. If you quantify good/evil as a scale with neutral being the center. And do the same with law/chaos Over the course of play. When a character preforms an action you (as GM) consider as demonstratin...

I have always just figured Flanking meant: If your attacking someone who is already engaged in combat you get +1 for flanking. From what i have seen unless you are caught unaware, the defender will turn to meet an attacker from the side. So i have always ruled you can only flank someone who is other...

I think the 1 to 10 system is simple.. simpler then the abiguous alinement system we have now. Paladium fantasy has the same alinements that rifts doe's. I personaly dislike the Paladium system.. too many people pick the alinements that let them act like douches. ^ my personal experiance, your milla...

Re: do you still use dungeons?
My first real mega dungeon attempt was a vast burried city. Dont get me wrong, my campaign currently spans 2 worlds and has alot of politics and social stuff. Yet the game always comes back to the mega dungeon. If you want to, visit dragons foot and look for their mega dungeon thread. linking....htt...

Re: do you still use dungeons?
Put me firmly in the mega-dungeon camp. My game has a mega-dungeon. It has a reason and purpose. Its back story makes it key to my world. It is often ignored, but it is a major plot driver of my world. I have done lairs and encounter sites.. they are ok and can be quite fun. But the game was built o...

Dont forget to subtract the 20 hp kicker from everything also.
Mostly it all converts on the fly. Some weapons have different damge from system to system.
I converted a 5yrs running HM game to C&C 4 years ago and havent looked back. rules lite baby!

I am using the less lethal crit/fumble tables, the land as rewards, the levels beyond 13, and the equipment wastage sections. The rest of the book is great to read and may be used in the future.
The section on powers of a cleric on holy ground is fabulous also.

Consol: to comfort or sooth usualy involveing hugs and close contact.
She is hot i wouldnt mind consoling her. = )
The idea is good, dont label to dismiss or diminish.

He was talking force of the swing not the weight of the weapon.
4 pounds sounds light untill you have to swing it for 20 - 30 mins.

Re: bec-de-corbin vs. armor bonus.
Rhuvein your physics guessing make my head hurt. Bec-de-corbins could punch through the toughest of armors with ease. Want to test this? take a sword and try a swing at your car, then use a pick-axe (small pointed beak like) and try to hit your car with it. Guess what? the small focused point will p...
