Re: A3 The Wicked Cauldron: The Witch Queen?

Philosopher's Stone is on p. 125 of M&T The AD&D wand of frost is just like the C&C staff of frost, so you can just use that, or if you prefer a wand, just make it a wand of Cone of Cold. I wish when a module is produced that if they are going to reference something from an existing book and not pu...

Re: A3 The Wicked Cauldron: The Witch Queen?

The Umbrage Saga also lists her as a 5th level Cleric and nothing else. I figure, if you're stuck, ask yourself if a 5th level Cleric multi classed with a 5th level Wizard is too powerful for the group then treat her as a 5th level Cleric that can cast Wizard spells. If she isn't too powerful then t...

Apparently there is a Fan Convention here...

Just heard about it today. They aren't too clear on what exactly is going to be in the Con but interesting none the less. Not a very inspired name for the con. Fan Con Thunder Bay is the only major centre in an 8 hour radius, so I haven't really been to any Cons except for the one in Finland. (Winni...

Re: Welcome New Crusaders!

C&C armor class & HP is the same as D&D. 8-) I'll have to check out the rules when I get the kickstarter books, and suggest C&C to my group. We were all pretty big min/max'ers back in 3.0/3.5 during Living Greyhawk, but we've all tried different systems since then. Myself- I want something like 3.5...

Re: I think the "Sisters" will make it to "Full color"...

Long shot I know but does anyone know if the new Aihdre map will show the location of the haunted highlands? My magic eight ball says "Yes." Of course I'm not "in the know" so me and my magic eight ball is useless to honestly answering that question, but I'd wager money on it and I'm not a gambler.

I know its a bit early and all but I want to start camping out on my front lawn for when this big box of kickstarted C&C goodness arrives and then call in sick for a week while I go through it all. I'm getting my Aihdre Kickstarter shipped with this Kickstarter, so I have twice as much to look forw...

Who else has made the mistake of playing Axis and Allies until one side is annihilated instead of ending at the victory conditions? Talk about a boring slog. ugh! Hello! I'm not sure what to say here, as I'm a total noob, and haven't even read the rules yet, and am just getting into C&C because of the kickstarter. Noob to C&C that is- I've played about every edition of D&D and recently tried running Savage Worlds Fantasy, but our group doesn't seem receptive...

Re: I might just leave RPGs behind, or my tale of burnout

It's hard giving advice when I don't know the other people personally. But, a factor that maybe overlooked is that you have a child now. It isn't unusual to lose "friends" after one has a child. Especially if those "friends" are single. It happened to me and it has happened to my daughter. I have no...

Re: I think the "Sisters" will make it to "Full color"...

Just my two cents. I am going to do the print and digital price of C&C products right now but might switch to just digital. Which a publishing company can't survive with. They need people to purchase the dead tree book to survive., or if they do survive they definitely need dead tree books to prosp...

Then I saw Troll Lord Games in the vendor hall and was convinced, quite easily mind you, to grab the three sisters most current printing. Re: Over 65 THOUSAND and over 540 backers!

Yeah the CKG was kind of a book I was forced to get rather than wanted. I mean I'm not complaining, I'm sure having the PH and M&T in colour and a new layout would've eventually drove me crazy enough to buy the colour version of the CKG. Plus all that you get at the $99 level more than justified opt...

Re: Rating system?

I'd go with Rigon. When people look at ratings for age, they don't want to have to learn a whole system. Just put what is age appropriate and anyone can easily see, at a glance, what it is and understand it immediately. Recommended age 5+ Recommended age 10+ Recommended age 15+ Or, if you wanted a m...

When I first started weather was never really on my mind. That is until The Dragon Magazine (Somewhere in the 1980's.) covered how to do weather and even supplied a handy weather DM screen. Then the light bulb went off and it made me realize that weather can be very important to an outdoor adventure...

Re: My "dream" TLG Kickstarter...

I've got to echo, in agreement, that this should be it's own Kickstarter. It could easily hold it's own with all the wonderful things you could do with it. I like mass combat in my campaigns. It is probably the only time I'd break out (paper) miniatures in an rpg. Though I'd much prefer expanding co...

So, you,Aergraith and Kreider agree to your list. I guess I should comment. I suppose already when I run a Classic game I tell people exactly which books I am using, so the scenario I imagined where I say "Show up at 8, we are playing Basic D&D" and everyone comes with a different edition and I hate...

OK, so the next edition will have "side bars" on how to play more "like" older editions. This sounds far from promising. I didn't see this comment. IF that is the implementation, it'll bomb from the standpoint of picking up the crowd that plays <3.x versions. I'll hold judgement. It is easy to spec...

Yeah, a PH and DMG at 320 pages each does not indicate a "modular" approach, but a "everything plus the Kitchen Sink" approach, but like I said, I will keep paying attention in case I am wrong. Even GURPS doesn't put everything for everything in a core book, they break it down by genre, so I am not...

I actually read and ran the "play test", and there is a "basic" 6th edition I could like, but since it now appears they will be putting all the "styles of play" into each and every book, rather than break it apart so I can actually buy only what I want, I am not interested. I missed that info. When...
