Re: Gamers That Don't Like People?
RPGers, IMO, are *very* social people. Sure, we congregate in Nerd Herds, but those are the best herds of them all. Doubt this? Go to your local game store on game nights... The crowds are deep and the air is thick with a miasma of pizza and teenage anxiety. God, I wish this stereotype would go awa...

Re: Firearms in CKG
Cheers guys, I've been using the house rule that firearms are as a touch attack (AC+ for Dex,cover& magic), I just figured that they ought to get something for that huge reload time. The idea of letting adamantine armor work is cool, and I could see allowing a very encumbering version of Ned Kelly's...

Should normal armor give an AC bonus vs these firearms or not? I'm on the fence and it never says if it should in the book, what do y'all think?

I hear ya, it can be a real pain in the but to navigate the health system here, especially in some regions of the country. It gets a little surreal in the variety of quality by facility/doctor/ect. Glad you (and your f-n-l) found a decent doctor and are getting better.

Re: What Encumbrance system do you use?
I haven't used EV in the past but I'm probably going to introduce it to my campaign. C&C has a good encumbrance system and I've found by not using it certain characters (esp. Rogues) don't get the benefits of 'traveling light' that they should.

Re: A Question for the Ahride Sages
Yeah I figured that those black & white banners in the Codex had to be copied from somewhere. No idea which product they were in though?

Re: A Question for the Ahride Sages
Yeah, this is probably what I'll do, just curious if they ever did a colour printing of the banners in any old products. The old Codex does give white crescent on violet background for the banner of Aufstrag though. Mostly I'm just looking for some colour themes to tie the minis together.

A Question for the Ahride Sages
Alright, barring there being some old product floating around that answers this, Steve is probably going to have to answer this. I've been painting up a set of miniatures for my Erde/Ahride campaign. I've gotten to the Letners and knight emissary of Aufstrag and realized that While I know what the a...

Re: New stuff on 'The Anvil'
Fear the mighty Flail Snail, fear him I say! I'm actually debating whether to put this in or not. It borders on that "Old school, it was cool when I was 15" feel and that "Good Lord, that is just dumb" feel. Dumb like a fox! But seriously it probably doesn't really need revisiting. ...now I just ne...

So let me get this straight Fiff, you're criticizing our medical system while admitting your father wouldn't be covered back in the states because due to pre-existing condition? Sounds like you already broke your own rules... But I digress, what I meant to tell you is that a hospitals are not made e...

and I simply don't have the time to construct a good story and then throw together the stat block of the primary NPC Tiefling Ranger/Bard/Arcane Archer with the Dire Badger (with an added Abyssal template to get the CL's reasonable) animal companion just because it'll be important to know what sort...

Re: Oh for the love of the game!
Yeah I think the best idea for getting his players into C&C would be to run a casual game with a very swashbucklin' plot, lots of action, C&C is really strong for this type of play. Once they get how much more smooth and quick combat is in C&C they might dig it as a different flavor. Some of your pl...

Re: new settings in starsiege
I've made a post-apocalyptic North America setting that I run. Also I've 'made' a more traddy sci-fi setting to work with the races and equipment in the field manual that I call 'Starseige a la carte', a sort of Known World for Starseige.

Protection from evil/whatever?
OK, meant to ask this for a while. Does Protection from evil protect against sleep or similar effects (eg. charms)? It says 'mental influence' or something vague like that in the description. This has just bugged me.

<t>I've been running the A series for my group, they're somewhere around A3/A4. I would advise to run the campaign with a 'sandbox' style (eg. not strictly linear). The Umbrage box set is ideal for this approach as it provides a lot of side quests and locations for variety. The reason I suggest this...
