No doubt! It seems like most campaigns die after 6-8 months.

You may wish to look into Tekumel, the world created by MAR Barker. The Goddess of the Pale Bone is considered to be anathema to everything, completely nihilistic. For that matter HP Lovecraft's Great Old Ones fit this bill as well.

<t>Well, the game is still alive and kicking. It's been on and off due to RL committments, but we'll be celebration our first year anniversary next session. Boy, I'm glad I shifted off of 3.5! I started the campaign with AD&D, went to 3.5 for a few sessions, and, oh ye merciful gods, found C&...

<t>You can fight two-weapon with just about anything that's light enough to be used one-handed. Bastard swords are pretty hard to use one-handed in real life, but it's been a longstanding DnDism that you can use them either one or two-handed. Also, a good two-weapon fighter's best defense is mobilit...

You could just use the cheat sheet and let them learn how to play in-game. It seems like reading RPG books doesn't help new players until they play a session or two and start to 'get it'.

<t>That would rock. I've already got the flyer done for next week's "Mistvale Chronicles" game, but I'd like to make another flyer for the Free RPG Day game. Cool, thanks.

My solution was to make a smaller flyer. The banner (more of a badge, really) is pretty small, but it looks better on the half-size page.

C&C Banner

Hi,

I'm making a flyer for a C&C game I'm running at the LGS next week, and I'd like to put wide C&C banner in it. The .gif for use on the Web is pretty small when printed out on an 8.5" x 11" flyer.

Does anyone know where to find such a beast?

<t>True, true. I really like the d20 CoC book. In fact, I ran both CoC and d20 CoC one summer just to get a feel for them both. The psychic stuff Investigators can have in d20 was pretty neat, but in the long run, the original CoC rules made for faster roleplaying. They are both great, though. Just ...

From a certain point of view, the SCA is the longest-running and largest LARP around. Twelve thousand people gather annually for the Pennsic War in Pennsylvania. But I see what you're saying about wanting to do RPG LARPing. SCA combat is hella fun, though.

Yes, but I've got the original The new edition is red.

I was a big Tekumel player around 1983-85, and most of the OG stuff was available back then.

So far, so good with C&C. My players dig it, I'm comfortable with it's oldskool appear, and all my ancient AD&D books are relevant. I've got Cosmos Builder coming in the mail, and I'm psyched about breaking away from the hoary (though servicable) D&D cosmology.
