Re: Settings you have never played / ran, but would like to ?

Jakandor is the first one that springs to mind. I've not heard of that one. What is it like ? Its basically an island, divided into who rules which side. One of them is occupied by a tribe of spellcasters, primarily using necromancy - the Charonti or something. And the other are barbarian Viking-li...

Re: Hey There...

I just ordered the 2e of Celtarium and will have Nordica and Germania on deck. I want to maybe incorporate ideas from them into Aihrde or A few Airhde ideas into a world inspire by the codex series. NICE, One thing I dislike about Aihrde is the fact they have what 4 or 5 separate cultural feels to ...

Re: The Monsters know what they are doing

I've never heard of that book, but I never run my monsters or NPCs as stupid, unless they are stated that way. Monsters should never be just static flesh bags that the PCs get to go and kill just to get exp, they are part of the real (imaginary) world and should act and react as part of the world. R...

Welcome to the world or C&C DMing! the Monday Night group I'm in uses discord all the time and roll 20 (sometimes map tools) for half the games So here is what I can advice from it From personal experience, since you are using discord & roll 20 - be ready for com issues if you have someone that has ...

First, welcome to the boards, glad to have you around here :!: For a game, as max said, you probably will have luck at the TLG discord channel Other than that, asking here usually, eventually, gets you a few leads on a game. Wow I must be slipping. I missed a good conversation in the Ne'er-do-Well chat last night & I've missed this one ... I think the issue with Illusionist and healing is in how you picture the illusionist and their associated powers. Are they a weak version of a magic user with powers that are simply glamor and tricks of the mind and fooling of ones senses Are they ones able to hide mask bend and change reality throu...

Now that will come down to how much you trust your players, but I feel if you are in a group that would cheat like that you may not want to be in that group . Agreed. Being with a group you can trust is essential. The "theatre of the mind" works well for our group. I don't think Lurker would tolera...

Me, I HATE non human races only getting 2 primes.

Yes I can see a min maxer playing another race only to get 3 primes and race benefits, but I don't play with min maxers anyway, and there are other ways to balance the races without ham stringing the other races like that.

Let me clarify Rigon's post, since I'm part of the Monday Night group I'm the limiting factor on voice only, discord, etc etc etc . Re: How do you handle multi-classing?

Kayolan & Ancalagon I understand the simplicity of not allowing multi class character, and can see the allure of that (yes it would make things so much more simple). However, I believe the world is more complex so that is reflected in my games. Also I am a habitual fiddler and tinker with the rules ...

Re: How do you handle multi-classing?

Well I'm running AA Masque of Red death, and one of the players just picked up mentalist as a 2nd class. Now by the book, from now on half his exp should go into Pugilist (his 1st class) and half should go into his 2nd class. Unless of course you are using class and 1/2 rules However, I'm a little m...

Re: Settings you have never played / ran, but would like to ?

I've not run a campaign in HârnWorld but it is tempting. I'd need to house rule some things with regard to magic as C&C is a bit too high fantasy for the setting, IMO. Harn, rgr that. I've never played it or ran it, but I have mined the heck out of Harn things. Great sources for ideas However, like...

Good break down. Re: Zero Magic C&C

The C&C history books do a great job of tying in the 'myth' of each timeframe/culture into the game . With that they are not strictly historic, and are not no magic, but they tend to be lower magic than average, or at least put a twist on magic outside the normal default For the old 2e history books...

I am fairly sure Drivethru has the old 2e history settings ... yeah just checked, $9.99 each, so fairly cheap at that.
