Re: Very important message regarding the forums
As a new convert (2 years) to C&C, the data in these forums is irreplaceable. Being able to search, return a list of TOPICS, and then read the responses is invaluable. Rule explanations, variations, stats for custom monsters... please save this data for future me.

Re: Wounds
I gave this a shot and it was cool. Didnt seem to alter the game too much except for one instance when my bruiser of a Dwarf missed and took a bad hit from an Ettin... When I consider the "wound" process, HP are not used I kept everything the same in regards to Hit Points, healing and dama...

Wounds
Anyone use 'wounds' as described in the CKG p 314? Divide total hit points by 4, for four wounds. 1 Wound = no effect 2 Wounds = -1 to Attribute Check/Attack Roll 3 Wounds = -2 to Attribute Check/Attack Roll, -1 Saves 4 Wounds = -3 to Attribute Check/Attack Roll, -2 Saves Thought the idea was cool a...

Hey Dorf, in the "Expanding Classes" supplement, it mentions Armor Restrictions on page 6: "Wizard/Illusionist supporting an armor-proficient class may not cast spells which directly cause damage or allow the target a save while wearing armor." https://www.trolllord.com/tlgstore/...

Re: Finesse weapons
I would allow either Dex or Str, but not both. R- This makes the most sense to me. No doubt DEX could play a role in melee, but probably would help "To Hit" more than "Damage". Now that I type that, perhaps you could allow a DEX bonus for your "To Hit", and then the ST...

From the CKG, page 283: "The character's level is almost always added to an Attribute Check. It is an understood premise that as the characters advance in levels, they advance in experience. Their experiences, through either observation or action, have improved their skill in successfully perfo...

Re: Arcane Magic Battle
Thanks Koralas, Cool ideas, and really like using the different abilities for different attacks/defense. I ended up changing how I did damage on my original idea to include a Level/2 modifier to account for experience, and it all seemed pretty balanced. I'll take a closer look at Psionics, appreciat...

Re: Assassin cost chart
Looking in the CKG starting around page 80 regarding Adherents and Henchmen, I see several charts listed for hiring assassins:
Start-Up: 125gp x Level
Salary: 12gp, 5sp x Level
There are also some charts for determining the CL for finding them with various means:

Re: Arcane Magic Battle
Thanks CK, I missed that : Any spell casting class or spell using monster can attempt a counter spell against another spell caster or magic using creature. To launch a counter spell the spell-caster must make the announcement at the beginning of the round, before initiative is rolled. They make an a...

Re: Arcane Magic Battle
why no just lob spells at each other like a melee combat? Appreciate the reply, and that's certainly available, and is represented in the example with the Fear Spell. I wanted to represent the mental struggle that is going on, a "battle of the minds" of sorts. In my world, this is differe...

Arcane Magic Battle
Hi All: Wanted to come up with a way to simulate a battle between two arcane magics, kinda like the battle between Galdolf and Sauron at Dol Guldur , or, in my case, fighting against an evil object... for example: The 3rd Level Mage walks into the crypt as the evil entombed here overwhelms her. She ...

X-wing vs Tie Fighter
So I finally decided to give it a shot, and this is what I came up with that seems to give a slight advantage to a single PC pilot in an X-Wing vs a similarly matched Storm Trooper in a Tie Fighter. I adapted this from Chapter 8 of the Castle Keeper's Guide and used the "ACR" (p 177, 2nd p...

Re: C&C to Star Wars
How many fighter-mages are secretly jedi? Seems like a good system for you to build from. AA may be a good starting point. Right?! We can get pretty close with just the spell list (Jump, feather Fall, Mage hand). Throw in MANA points for the Force Ability... and now all we need are blasters and shi...

Thanks! I'll be sifting through these.
Seems like this should be fairly easy at the character level. Gonna see about adapting the stats for vessels in Chapter 8 of the CKG.

C&C to Star Wars
Hi All: I have settled on C&C as my game system of choice, I came for the SIEGE Engine, but stayed for the MANA points. I play solo, and use this system with everything, whether a board game, game book, or straight-up RPG. However, I have never ventured outside the fantasy genre, and would like ...
